While Elvis is “lavendering” up the wall and doing boring stuff (drywall) I am starting my career in furniture makeovers 😅 Who thinks we will be done with drywall by next video!?

The yellow is the tannin in the old wood finish coming through. The only way I have found to avoid this completely is with an oil based/shellac based primer, or full sand. For some reason latex and acrylic paint just won't prevent the tannins from coming through, but oil based paint will.

I did see that 😩 I was going to buy the shellac primer but I kept reading the bonding primer was really good and since sherwin Williams was having a sale I saw it as fate 😅. The yellow I think back now and it was probably the lighting in the garage. We will see when we move it inside 🤞🏼

The yellowing may be tannins in the wood bleeding through .... you may need to use a shellac based primer (zinsser 123 with red on the can) I speak from experience ... no matter how many layers the yellow will keep on comming through if it is tannins. Love watching this!! You guys are awesome!!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll keep that in mind for future pieces. I used the sherwin Williams bonding primer for this one

Hi! I’ve watched most of your kitchen renovation videos and I’m pleased to see a longer video today! Keep going, you’ll get there in the end. Love from UK 🇬🇧 ❤️

Thank you so much for the kind words! ☺️ we are taking it one day at a time, the walls are so hard 😅 maybe that’s why the kitchen just had wood planks as walls 🫠
