I'm doing a virtual AT hike. It's not nearly as hard as the real thing, as there are no hills, no rocks, no ice, no streams to cross. Watching gives me a sense of what I'm missing. But at 67 with hip and knee issues, this is how I roll. I'm doing about 10 miles a day.

First, you did a video about hammock camping before your hike. I’m interested in using a hammock for my section hike next year. Can you show more about your experiences hammock camping on the trail vs tent camping. Also I sent you a message on instagram with directions using shock cord to help with your sagging issues on your tarp that will hopefully help you out. Looking forward to hearing more about your hammock experience! Have a great safe trip!

Been watching and wanted to let you know that your videos are awesome. If you stop in a town/city with Walmart you can get Airborne which has zinc and many more vitamins. Airborne also has an elderberry flavor as well. Sorry to hear you were getting sick symptoms on trial.

Awesome! Moving along quickly. I am thinking about doing the AT in the next year or so. Maybe not the full pull, but at least a month’s worth. It runs within half an hour from my house in VA. My question is about electronics. I would def put it all on my channel. Do you have a battery bank and just keep everything off until you need it and charge in towns?

It’s a huge moral lift not to have the rain smacking my head. When it’s pouring and all you can do is look down at the trail, it’s nice to be able to have some cover from above. It gives a bit more freedom. It also stops water from running down between my back and the pack and keeps my shoulder straps drier. It’s a personal preference choice for sure, but I’m enjoying it!
