My favorite Christmas movies are Home Alone, Elf and Christmas Vacation. And the old animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Also, in our family we give lists of things we’d like for Christmas. We put more things on the list than we will get. That way we will be surprised since we don’t know what will be picked. Works wonders

I’m glad you’re going to keep making videos. I wait all week for this update. Haroun and the sea of stories - Salman Rushdie. Is my book of the year. He wrote it for his son and you can feel the love he put into it.

Halfway through Demon Copperhead, and it’s so good! I grew up in the 90s with friends in similar situations so it hits really close to home.

The Holdovers is great! Loved how they made it look and feel like an 80s/90s movie. I think my favorite has to be Christmas Vacation, but it’s hard not to be when I’m in the Chicago area-even though Home Alone was also shot in the burbs of Chicago.

Definitely. Read it first in 1990 and it changed my entire perspective on SF. Quickly followed by Count Zero, and Mona Lisa Overdrive. Early Gibson is perfection.

I really enjoyed the xmas movie Nutcrackers with Ben Stiller, it has a little bit of a similar vibe to Holdovers but slightly younger/zanier kids on a farm.

I liked The Holdovers last year too. My favorite Christmas movie is Office Christmas Party. For the last several years my husband and I have had a tradition of watching it every Christmas morning in bed before the kids wake up and we start the family holiday stuff (it's very much NOT a watch-with-your-kids movie!). Coincidentally, Da'Vine Joy Randolph is in both of these movies - I love her and think she does a great job in both.

Demon Copperhead was inspired by charles Dickens novel David Copperfield. You do not have to have read David Copperfield to enjoy Demon Copperhead. There are characters in Kingsolver's book that call to mind characters in David Copperfield. Enjoy Demon Copperhead. It's sad at times but I suspect you will like it 😊

I read my penguin classics. I guess I don’t understand the concept of purchasing a penguin classic book but not reading. My question is what do you do with a Penguin classic book if you don’t read it? I know in my experience reading Dracula and Frankenstein penguin classics that ink of cover came off from reading. I guess I’m just confused on what to do with them if you don’t read em’.

Have you read Norwegian Wood? I finished it today, and now I don't know what to do with myself! It'll make you feel things for sure.
