Your little talk about being a Teddy Bear and getting hurt by criticism really resonated with me. I want to become better, but I also get my feelings hurt easily and it's hard to balance the two. I often view this trait as a negative thing but I'm starting to realize that it's just because I care about people a lot, want to make them happy, and always want to give my best. So just like you said, you only get hurt because you try really hard. You are one of the few who really genuinely care about giving top quality care and that's why you are going to make a great doctor. We are proud of you, America!

And yeah dealing with criticism is essential in all professions, it's part of what working with people is, it's just that not every young person is a badass from the very beginning, but it's learnable, she's so motivated and hard working

Same here... I wish I was one of those people who could take the criticism and improve from it , but it is difficult and I am sure that some of the others that get criticized also then feel hurt , but try not to show it either in front of the others. Some days you'll get good criticism and other days, you'll get some not so good criticism but hey, you got this. You are going to be a great Doctor. I just started a new job and I feel the saaame way. I get upset sometimes when my manager says "Can I give you some feedback?" and she tells me how to improve because it makes me feel like I'm failing, but I just tell myself to take the criticism and learn from it (easier said than done, I know). Sometimes I write it down so I can remember it and look at it later. It's hard because you want to do a really good job and you want to know what to do in every situation... but that's just not realistic. Go easy on yourself, girl. You're doing great.
