I’m so late I’m embarrassed but I just wanted to say that, You inspired me so so much because you do many dental videos, and when I grow up I want to help people and be a dentist, I love your channel and love watching your vids, keep up with the amazing vids, also you made me hungry with all that food. Let me help you. Don't do it. With the ridiculous cost of a degree in dentistry, it'll be the worst financial decision you'll ever make. Compound that with the issue that dental school barely prepares you for real dentistry. But if you don't care about that, then feel free to disregard.

Mike Tran that is very true. Honestly if you’re into the dental field aim for hygiene. I make 120k a year and do real estate in the side so close to 200k. The dentist i work for honestly says I make more then him profit wise at the end of the year. I wanted to be a dentist and It does suck because I know I could of done it but I wanted to start a family at 27 and not struggle. If I went to dental school I would of been 32 and been in debt until 43 or 45. Sorry for the rushed comment I’m literally just getting off the dental office but decided to reply

Also I’m not trying to judge but looks like the girl in this video probably has wealthier parents than most. If your parents can afford dental school that’s a huge plus. I come from a third world country so my parents barley made 45k a year or even less so I’m very happy to be helping them now.

Argonaut I think we live in different states or countries. I’m my state the average pay for a dental hygienist is about 50k. Don’t get me wrong it’s not bad especially since you only need 2 years and you won’t be in debt. Also if I were to go into dental school I would graduate at 25-26. So I think it just depends on where you live. However what you’ve done is really smart since I’m also interested in real estate. Thank you for giving me the idea. I will look into it

Hey Laura, I am a D3 at Temple and I am not sure it is protocol to use prophy paste after an SRP. Thought is that the pumice and debris will stay in the pocket and hinder healing and LJE attachment. Cool video!

Yeah i also had a patient coming to our clinics, i was ready to extract his wisdom tooth, when the xray came out and one of its roots was so mesially curved and it was very painful for the patient. He was screaming, litterally.

It's a northern university theres definitely times when you question why you chose it but those happen less and less as you move up in years, it's hard work but if you do get in do make sure to make time for a hobby/club/society!

Hi laura, My friend has severe dental anxiety ,she feels sick when she visits dental clinic....n wat scares her d most is d anesthethic....any tips to help her..(.n ya even after so much fear she sees ur video n says oh i wud only go to laura for treatment she makes the whole dental thing look less scarey) . Jennifer Dominguez I am also a dental student and I know how nerve recking it can be to take on so many loans. First thing I can say is that if you know you want to be a dentist, it is well worth the cost. Additionally, speak to your dentists and you will see that though they do have a lot to pay, they don’t over stress about it because it is a career path that will very likely allow you to pay your debt smoothly. Just my view, we are all on the same boat :)

At our school, we rotate through the specialties in dental school. You can choose to specialize and that requires additional training in residency (can range 2-6 years depending on specialty)

Great questions! The typical route is 4 years of undergrad + 4 years dental school + optional residency after (1-2 years for general residency and 2-3 years for specialities)
