Hair still looks amazing! It’s so nice you’re kind to your IR assistants. I’m a radiology assistant (and MED student) to a group of 70 Rads (IR and otherwise) and they can be …. unappreciative and I genuinely try my hardest to meet their every need and make their jobs easier. Keep up your attitude it’s awesome!!

@@DrCellini I need that kind of energy, haha. Do you guys plan to have kids? If so, when you do, I think that is when you'll truly be tested, lol. Running a channel being an IR doc, keeping the wife happy, having a kid, and trying to fit leisure time in your schedule is gonna be the true challenge. That's the conundrum I've been trying to work out since our baby arrived (except I'm a nurse, so I'm sure it would be easier than the situation you'd be in).

I really like these videos! Please do more like these and I would love to see unboxing videos with IR trays/kits and walk through the procedure and then the procedure videos you were talking about would be amazing. I do trauma research and love working with our IR fellows and attendings but I love all aspects of IR if I ever go back to school I would love to do my PA and work in IR. I love procedures and IR is a cool mix of cases.

Hey Dr. Cellini, I am a second year med student. Not related to this video in particularly, but I have heard that abdominal surgery with embolectomy for a SMA embolus has better outcomes then an interventional radiology approach. Wondering your opinion on this, and if you can expand on the breadth of procedures IR does and if there are any procedures you expect to take over more invasive approaches. Love your content!

I FINLLY had my ercp/spincterotomy on the 26th but no stent (6 years between due to spincter of odi dysfunction) but no stent was placed (my general Dr thinks I should have). I had a lot of sludge (6 years ago I had stones and sludge). I had my gallbladder out 16 years ago. My surgical notes said “ Cholangiogram: balloon trawl of duct, sludge removed. Ampulla dilated. Repeat spincterotomy with good effect. Long cystic duct”. I also had a radiologist supervising the ercp and his report basically noted the gallbladder clips and to see surgical notes”. I never know if a stent is a good or bad idea as I have heard they can’t stay in for long? Ps I live in Australia :).

Not the doc but I am a Radiologic Technologist for over 25 years. I definitely recommend training in another modality, especially CT as most facilities require dual modalities in order to get the most “bang” for their buck when hiring Technologists. CT Techs seem to be the most needed right now across the country. Most facilities are offering high sign-on bonuses as well as generous relocation bonuses if you live more than 50 miles from the facility. I’ve been CT exclusively for about 15 years and it is my favorite modality! Never a dull moment and no 2 exams are the same. It’s a great time to get into the field, best of luck from Florida!

Earlier this year I had a giant kidney stone lodged in my ureter. Would an intervential radiologist have help the urologist get that out? (I also had Sepsis, but I don't know if that had to do with the lodged stone or a wound on my back that got kinda bad.)
