Whoever buys that Blue Bungalow will not only get an awesome house, they will also have their very own construction documentary to go with it. If they ever need to do any upgrades or repairs, they can just scroll through the KZbin playlist to see where everything is. Just be careful not to make it too good. You might get jealous of your own creation.

Wow, such glorious weather y’all are having. So nice to have Lowell around to keep you on the right “electrical” path! Whoever buys the blue bungalow will be so lucky! Those blue lights are perfect for that space, and the compass-thing is just the right finishing touch! Your dinner plates are so pretty. Both meals looked delicious! My momma loved fried okra. That mailbox-bread oven looks pretty interesting…I am a sucker for kitchen doo-dads, gadgets, etc. 😁 I hope y’all can carve out some time to take out the new boat and put her through her paces. Y’all have a wonderful weekend and we’ll see ya next week!

Nice work. Quick ?- How do y’all keep the anchor cable from being an underwater hazard to passing boats as it runs upward from concrete block to attachment point on house?
@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses6 ай бұрын
We sink the mooring lines with cinderblocks! So it’s only possible for a boat to touch them if they’re about 5ft off our house (that should never ever happen haha. They’re neon yellow high-vis though just in case!)

Wait wait wait. I need that okra recipe. Please. We eat okra all the time but not like that. Please
@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses6 ай бұрын
Oh it’s super easy! I just put the okra (I often use frozen okra, it’s just as good) on a sheet pan with coconut oil (you could use any oil) and salt/pepper, then bake on 400°F for maybe 30 min or just until you start to notice some browning, shaking/stirring up pan occasionally. add more S&P for serving, & that’s it!

@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses6 ай бұрын
Sure! I just put it on a baking sheet with some coconut oil & salt/pepper (I used a bag of frozen okra which turns out just as good as fresh okra when cooked! either works). You could use any cooking oil, we just like coconut oil. Bake in the oven on 400°F for about 30 min or just until you see a little browning, shaking/stirring up the pan a couple times throughout. Add a little more S&P before serving, & that’s it! Super easy 🙌

Why do all these creators have expensive taste??? Most of your fans can't afford that stuff!!! Are you just trying to rub it in people's faces??? My first episode and I'm already discouraged...
@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses6 ай бұрын
Hi Gary, welcome aboard. I hate to hear that, and I think you’ve drawn a couple conclusions to get there that aren’t quite based on fact. As expensive as this may all look, in reality - every single thing we have here, from the house and everything in it to the boats, is well under $100k combined. It would be extremely difficult to find a home on land for that cheap, let alone a nice one! I’m not sure I know a single person with a cheaper home than us, even our friends with trailers paid more. This is an amazingly affordable way to live in comparison to owning any kind of home anywhere on land. So no, we aren’t rubbing anything in anyone’s face. We love using this platform to share about how alternative forms of living can be much more affordable for an above average quality of life. It broaden’s people’s minds who, like you, might assume that a home this enjoyable and attractive would have to be outrageously expensive. In reality this is not true, and to the contrary - our journey shows that if you’re willing to work hard and put in sweat equity, you can have a very nice home and a very enjoyable lifestyle, all for less than the cost of a trailer.
