There’s a festival they have in Nashville every year. One year Garth wasn’t preforming but he showed up to just watch the show. As soon as he came in the gate fans swarmed him wanting autographs. He stood in one spot for over eleven hours signing autographs. He didn’t go to the bathroom, get something to eat or drink. For that reason he will always have my respect.

In 1997 Garth put on a free concert in Central Park in New York City. They thought they might get 10 or 20 thousand people to show up especially since it was in New York, but when he walked on stage it was people as far as the eye can see. Over a million people showed up.

Fun fact: Garth won artist is the year at the American Music Awards one year and refused to take the award cause he thought Hootie and the Blowfish deserved it .. only artist to ever turn down an award .. Now the lead singer for Hootie and the Blowfish is Darius Rucker and he is country music singer now .. he’s awesome 👏 Darius sings “wagon wheel” .. you should react to that one !! He didn’t know if country music would accept him because he’s black and he use to be a rock singer but of course they did because his talent speaks for itself .. lv Darius’s Voice ..

Yep.Still can't believe he was flying around the stadium dangling by a couple of wires. Total mad man. Even today that would be very dangerous and awesome..... And he was doing that stuff back in the '90s. There's just no way you can dangle yourself from too thin wires and fly around the stadium close to ceiling level and not have it be super dangerous and entertaining.

I owe you a debt of gratitude and compliments. I had cut garth brooks out of my life at a early age. My little sister burned that shit out of me. Some of her FIRST DAMN WORDS were garth brooks. I got burned out fast. I haven't listened to these songs since I was 10. I'm almost 36 now. But when I saw you in my feed reacting to some old-school country tunes like I grew up with my curiosity was piqued. Thank you. Also thanks for being brave enough to not only try out this kinda music but to shamelessly admit that you enjoy it. Your ahead of your time bro. I didn't stop denying my own musical huilty pleasures till I was almost 30. Now I embrace it all and if any of my (now aging) metalhead or punk rock buddies try to hate. Id call their asses out on it. But to date, most of them are relieved to be able to enjoy with me without being the one to admit it first.

Loved your reaction to this song. You asked about partying all night until the sun came up. It wasn't me, but when I was a kid, my family delivered newspapers for a living. One of our customers at the time was a lawyer, and once or twice a year, he would throw a big party for his friends. They would start partying around seven or eight pm on a Saturday night, so by the time we arrived at around four or five am to deliver the Sunday paper, you had thirty or forty drunk idiots all trying to catch one newspaper. They started making a contest out of seeing who would catch it each time. There was even a trophy. Anyway, one year, by the time we showed up to throw the paper, the lawyer was already passed out in a lawn chair in the yard. As my mom approached, the guys started spreading out into the road. My mom told them to back up, then threw the paper. In midair, the bag busted, so it was literally raining newspaper. The guys were all in the street, trying to see who could get the biggest armful of paper. Mom knew that our customer wouldn't be able to read that mess, so she threw another that someone caught. Later that year, our customer told us that he woke up the next morning buried in a blanket of newspaper. That Christmas someone sent him a Christmas card with a picture of him buried in the paper. I know this was a long story, but I thought you might enjoy it. Thanks.

I believe playing the 5 string bass (the blonde on the right) is his sister Betsy. I know she played with him in the early years, so I think this is her. This song is kind-of like country rap, lol! I hope you can squeeze in one of his beautiful ballads. What a showman and storyteller! Try to view a concert, you'll never see country music the same again! kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnmyZYSoZdmGoLM This is a terrific reaction video I'm sure you'll love.

Fun fact... he stood and signed autographs for 24 hours straight for his fans once. This was after he “retired” and his fans still came out in large numbers. Also, after 911 he held several live concerts and one was down in TX and it was raining like crazy. His people tried to get him to post pone the concert but he came on stage and said if his fans were willing to camp out in the weather for his concert the least he could do is give them a show. Another live concert he killed was when he played in Central Park. ❤️

Hey man, let me tell ya a story about Garth Brooks. In the mid to late 90's, can't remember the exact year, Garth did a 2 or 3 night concert in East Lansing. I couldn't get tickets because they sold out in minutes. So in downtown East Lansing, there is a place called Pinball Pete's, they have pool tables, arcade games, pinball, you name it, and they used to be open all night long. So I was up at 2am, looking for a parking place on the street when I saw a line of tour busses next to the Marriot. I parked a ways down the street, which was pretty much deserted, and walked the 2 blocks to Pinball Pete's. I saw several people moving luggage and etc from the busses to the hotel, and as I was about to walk past, a guy came out and said, "Hey buddy." I turned around and it was Garth Brooks! I'm not the kind to be starstruck, but man I was kinda slack jawed from seeing him out of the blue. We talked a little bit, mostly small talk, and for some reason I thought to ask him to come across the street for a game or two of pool. I think that if it wasn't so late and he didn't have a concert the next night, he very well would have joined me! We shook hands, and I walked off to shoot some pool. But that was one of the coolest celeb meetings I ever had, and he is way more cooler and chill to talk to than you know!

This must have been before he opened a show for Chris Ledoux and saw that a country show can be just as wild as a rock show. He has always credited Ledoux for the show style he is known for. You should go ahead and give this one a 10 out of 10 as well because they shortened the version for the performance on TV which you were watching. That was a Jay Leno tonight show performance if I recall which is why you see the NBC logo. The full version of the song has a massively long and amazingly good harmonica solo at the end of the song as well which it fades out on after an amazing couple of minutes of great playing. Best harmonica solo I've ever heard next to what John Popper can do from Blues Traveler of course but still one of the best.

After watching this I had to go pop in the dvd from Garth's concert in Central Park. The only way to watch this man is live. I have never seen a better concert in my life

You should see if you can find one of his concerts from after 9/11. He did 3 charity concerts and they were on CBS. You can then see the live Garth
