The little striped lamp shades were my favorite. I really don't like bare light bulbs. The shades are perfect! As for those flimsy bins from Amazon. What I did was take the bin with me to the Dollar Tree and got hard plastic bins that fit in them perfectly and keep them from collapsing. Now they are fine for inside my armoire for gloves and scarves and crochet hats and beanies.

Thanks for the inspiration. After living in my house for 6 years I’m feeling the need to add creative touches and get rid of some of the generic new decor. Bought an oil painting of a Paris street at a used furniture store that makes me smile when I enter my bedroom. Just put on my American Blossom Linen sheets for the first time.

Over the past 20 years I've found some wonderful treasures at B. U. Yes, they are a bit higher priced than many other thrift stores, but they have a nice inventory. I was just there yesterday and came home with a pair of perfectly fitting leather boots with fringe ($12), a lovely blue merino wool cardigan ($6), and a few other little items.

Yes, I’m the same way. I get started and see other things that need to be done. I try but usually ends up 3/4 of the way done. Setting up a room does take a long time if you’re like me it takes a very long time just to find your style much less style a room. I’m on my way now and hopefully I’ll be finished within the next year or so.

They make special extension cords that are designed to lay flat under rugs! I'm not sure what they're called, but I'm sure you can Google search them. Maybe that would help you with your lamp cords?

What fun! I envy your resale shops! You always seem to find such neat things! I also understand about door hardware; my old house still has the colonial iron latches on most interior doors, and the 3 exterior doors have chunky brass (now worn to a gentle patina), with the locking mechanism inside the wood of the door itself that works with little push buttons. I would never ever change those! Love your push plates! I used to fly fish, btw, you'll love it! ❤️

Sweet....I am getting a mammoth trestle table made for the Old World look, red oak top and cherry bottom, so concerned I get the stains right !!! I have a white wood dining room , lots of windows facing a pond, and copper( thinking washington cherry stain on red oak looks copper like in color ? ) and a dark rich tobacco bottom, 2 toned; BUT for Old World LOOK, should I do all dark rich tobacco ? Just do not know how the rich tobacco dark stains will match on different woods, or if it will not, and still look good? Concerned if I do , the red oak, with Washington cherry stain, that it will look like every other houses door that you see, and not look unique....... Argggggggggggggggg !!!!! Any ideas on Old World Trestle table stain, this is a huge dining room table??? ...../
