My father was a police officer for City of Miami, and I can attest that his uniform and patch are all authentic. They could have used any cop costume uniform and most people probably wouldn't have noticed, but the wardrobe crew went the extra mile to be accurate. Nice touch! They don't get enough credit for being able to track stuff down like props and costumes within a week.

Best Weekend Update teams: Chevy Chase & Jane Curtin, Norm Macdonald, Seth Meyers & Tina Fey, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler and Colin Jost & Michael Che. Yet somehow I don't remember Seth and Cecily ever hosting this segment...possibly because I had a one-year-old at the time, so if I was staying up late it wasn't to watch SNL. But she's SO good in this! Why didn't her tenure on WU last longer??

The jokes were horrible! I've been to Russia, and I was amazed by its nature and food :D. My aunt lives there, and the siblings of her husbant are the nicest people I have ever met. It's really like we're laughing more at the outrageousness of what she says, the silliness of the stereotype and Kate McKinnon, who is such a talented comic. It does also pander a bit to an American audience who tend to think in black and white (America good, communism bad, "Russia" being synonymous with communism and nothing else) and most of whom probably think the Russian Federation is still the U.S.S.R. I love Russian literature and music and anyone who becomes acquainted with Russian culture finds it an incomparable treasure. (I'm Canadian...)

I'm gonna be respectful and short about the Atlanta snowstorm... That was a dangerous situation for the traffic. That is the most traveled interstate in Georgia. The traffic in Atlanta is so horrible, and it really could have seriously caused injuries. I'm sorry that we aren't prepared as the north. But if you traveled that traffic on that road it will cause you damage too. So please don't get it twisted. We're celebrating the 10 year anniversary of this.
