Weekend With Metallica | Helsinki | Part 1 - Cliff's last Gig & Bus Crash Site - Lars Childhood Home

Part 1 - Join me on my M72 weekend with Metallica on tour in Helsinki Finland. As a super-fan (AKA fanatic) I have set myself a personal goal to visit every key site in Metallica’s history including locations of their recording studios, concert venues, band members’ childhood homes and other key sites that have impacted the trajectory of the biggest heavy metal band in history.
In this film I take a deep dive into the dark past of norther Europe visiting retracing the final moments of Cliff burton form his last gig in Stockholm Sweden to the site in the bus crash that tragically claimed his life in Dorarp Sweeden. I also visit Lar’s childhood home in Copenhagen as well as the location of sweet silence studios where ride the lighting and master of puppets were recorded. Finally, I film my personal experience in the Moth in flame enhanced experience visiting the black box long pre the first gig and footage from the first show in Helsinki under the midnight sun. Fantastic video! You actually shown a picture of my favorite Metallica experience. The photo at the 12:45 mark, was taken on July 21st 1986 at an outdoor amphitheater called Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston Michigan. I was 15 years old. Me and my friend moved up from the 26th to the 5th row. There was literally a pile of people in front of the stage. My POV was pretty much that classic Ross Halfin photo. Hands down, my all time favorite Metallica show. Keep up the great work!

I shot footage. But never edited together to post on my channel. I’m a gold medalist procrastinator 😆Having those moments of your passions with your kids is something else. Me being an older dad, telling her about my concert experiences in the ancient days of the 80s and 90s and how different they are today. Hope you get to have that experience with your son! Definitely a rite of passage. Cheers mate!

Great video, but I think tha story of the shortest straw is imcorrect. There is video of Kirk telling the story of how Cliff had the top bunk. Kurk says they pulled cards to see who got the bottom bunk, Kirk won, I forget what card he said he pulled m. This video is from the time period as I believe was wraring a Justice tee shirt. Agreed Metallica's show without Jason is different, but its not worse. Rob adds his own qualities which are in no way lacking - his virtuosity is outstanding. Your failure to mention him at that point leaves a void which is disappointing THB. Thanks for sharing your experiences and good luck.
