You just gotta love this guy. Such a nice person, and a fantastic drummer.

he is one of the best drummers out there. I saw him w soilwork on ozzfest in 05. he was miles above every other drummer there. his speed and precision is amazing, he also grooves hard. I'll never forget his performance. it's forever engraved in my brain.

Best drummer Megadeth ever had. Gar and Nick were amazing but I would not imagine them playing Devin Townsend’s Deconstruction on a live set.

shout out to OZZY! you need to feature the drum techs during these interviews. they are a part of the kits too!

Damn, the hard panning of the audio is brutal on headphones!

Those new clip on mics everyone uses to block out exterior sound sound so weird. The lav mics sounded way more natural . I saw a Chad Smith rundown by his tech and it was obviously a noisy stage but it sounded like the tech was in an iso booth. It takes you out of it.

I've commented on this in other MD clips but David REALLY needs to hone his interview technique. Don't know if its nervousness or excitement, but his habit of constantly interrupting his interview subjects is hellAciously annoying for the listener.
@pj133318 сағат бұрын
Or maybe they’re under extreme time constraints and he’s trying to get as much information out as possible?? Having worked backline I can tell you that there’s hardly any time available to have the techs and artists together for such interviews. Opening acts, sound checks, pyro tests etc and it’s a miracle that we get any such rundowns. Just hit like and enjoy the free video man.
@darch697818 сағат бұрын
@ I hear you bro. I come from a journalism background so that’s what I hone in on. That fact that it’s free has little bearing on what I’m referring to. That being said, I’m SUPER jazzed to see that dirk finally brought his main HH stand into his own zip code!

Is the stereo panning on the speaking audio flipped or am I having an acid flashback lmao
@SKARKIBANEZ16 сағат бұрын
The "stereo" mics of each of you..........is reversed :P

This is not a Modern Drummer problem but an everyone problem it seems - when it's just an interview and the camera guy is going left to right and back and forth constantly. I know it's for all he ADHD people but It's so annoying. It's just a chat its not a music video. Flame On I Guess...
@ZACohea9 сағат бұрын
3:15 Proper posture and technique would have helped with that!
@stromghouls9 сағат бұрын
shallower snares are louder than deep snares. deep snares are slow and have poor crack. for fast metal music, shallow snare is better.
