It is really scary for us Mums the first time we pop to the shop, even for a short time, leaving our children at home watching cartoons. We say, don't answer the door to anyone, don't go anywhere near the cooker, don't go outside etc etc. Then we rush back home in a panic and they are sitting quite happily wondering what all the fuss is about lol. It's the right of passage for us all and it's good for them to learn to abide by the rules and have some more independence. Best wishes from Northern Ireland.

Initially I was a little shocked that your son was left alone, but then I realised that differences in countries and culture go far beyond just cuisine and language etc .. I think it's wonderful you can trust your children to be independent and testament to your great parenting. I learn a lot from you, Linna, thank you. X

With the boys having their extra classes & activities & then playing until dark outside, I'm so glad you all decided to eat out & the boys also got a treat from the fun machine!! I had no idea Natto became less sticky when heated...so nice to know, because I'd try it in fried rice. Thank you so much for sharing that tip, Linna!! I love to eat my fried rice with the small squares of Korean seaweed...it just makes it taste so good!! Your lunch looks really healthy & delicious too! I'm sure you & your husband have taught your boys very well, along the way & they are very well behaved & are growing up so quickly...in Japan too, things are very different from a lot of other countries...so leaving them alone for a short time, I'm sure they will be just fine. The boy's Sushi party turned out really fun...such a good idea for them to enjoy!! ♥

Dear Linna, you have raised beautiful boys well, but it goes very quickly! You live beautifully with the dining table that always has flowers on it Linna thank you you have changed my life I now eat much healthier very differently than before and I am going to buy new clothes at the end of this month my trousers and jackets have become too big but I am trying to buy something that in terms of color and model always matches the new fashion! Thank you dear lady, I now know that fresh food is also tasty! Lots of love from Belgium from Anne 🤗👍🏻💐❤

I just wanted to tell you I love your videos so much, especially the grocery store parts. I just visited Japan for the first time last week and I was SO EXCITED to get to go to the grocery store and use the little cart and basket! Your videos helped me know what to do!! We don’t have basket carts like that in the US. Thank you for sharing your world with us. Your content is so beautiful.

My husband has a couple of those airplants in his office. The store had glued them onto a log and they sit on his desk. They are very easy to keep and only need to be sprayed with water every couple of weeks. They don't need direct sunlight as well (at least they are doing fine in his North facing office). Those glass containers are so cute. Perhaps it's a fun idea to make chawan mushi in them, as you can see what's in it. I love hamburger steak. I often make it in the microwave! So easy, the only hard part is to get the sauce to thicken properly. I got the recipe from a cafe style microwave cookbook and the sayce is to runny I think so I have ajusted it. Mydaughter loves the restaurants where you get a coin like that as well. Only problem is she eats so much that the portions in the children menu are too small nowadays😅

What a fun weekend for the boys! I know S had a test but the rest of it looked fun. There comes a time when our kids just want to stay home instead of going with mom. What a fun time for K. Just watching his cartoon & enjoying some alone time. Cool!! I have to say it again, I love your hat!! I got a better look at it in your shadow. I just love that style. I had to laugh when you said you better eat or there would be nothing for you. Growing boys need lots of nourishment. Thanks for sharing!

I don't understand the Pokémon card game either 😅 my younger sister really liked Yu-Gi-Oh when we where kids , she still has all her original print cards. She has a few very rare cards actually it's a first print dragon type card I think. My son also loves Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Dragonball Z . It's so cute to see them bonding over their love of the games and TV shows ❤ Big Hello to you and your family from Ireland 🇮🇪💚

It was common in my childhood too. I remember the neighbors would have the doors unlocked for a bathroom break or water (anything more than water was an ask). We never felt unsafe and knew which Moms stayed home or what time people got off work. Definitely a different time, different place.

Hello Linna, i too, seldom go to McDs, but when i do my 2 favourite things are an apple pie, and their hashbrowns! Your apple pie choice was excellent! 😂 in NZ children are not supposed to be keft at home alone until they are 14, but i know there are a lot of parents that leave them home alone earlier than this. Were you not worried when you were going so far away to pick up your other little boy.
