Erin, I love your channel. I especially enjoy this laid-back style of filming. My grandsons (30-ish) were here yesterday and one of them told me that I was like a bunny on crack, hopping around my garden and showing them everything that has new growth or has started to bloom. I love your excitement, it's contagious. 🥰💐🦋

Great garden stroll, thank you. Plant names on the screen would be helpful as you talk about them. Hardy Begonia emerges very late, so yours may not be dead, although I know you planted them very late last season. We are in Madison, Wisconsin and have grown Hardy Begonia for many years. We could share a plant with you if you want one.

Just love your relatable approach to gardening. I live next door to the “lawn guy” who has a meticulously manicured lawn and hired landscaping. Always makes me feel so pathetic when I’m out planting my little seedlings I painstakingly grew all winter long, along with my more natural borders and dying trees. But I digress! You show me natural beauty in the garden and it inspires me to keep on doing what I do. Thank you so much!

Anyway keep the updates coming, I always learn so much. FYI, I named my new kitten Fergus because he’s a Scottish Fold and it seemed suitable. 😊

I wonder if you have a special variant of ostrich fern that naturally gets larger? Or just your climate, day length etc is especially conducive to them thriving and growing large? In south eastern PA ostrich ferns definitely only get about 3 feet tall- I have them in my garden beds as well as growing wild, see them at historic homes, see them at local arboretums and display gardens… same size, never much taller than waist high, if that. So interesting!!

I'm glad to see I'm not alone in still cleaning up my garden beds. Friday, I made a list of all the chores for the day knowing I wouldn't get half of them crossed off. I even spontaneously did some lawn maintenance (my yard is suddenly overrun with tiny creeping Charlie plants). By evening (yes, I spent 9 hours in the garden) I was quite pleased by my progress. Now it's a gorgeous day so I need to get out there to complete my chore list so I can start a new one. For several years, I've said I wanted to divide a couple tightly packed hostas next to my driveway thinking it would be easier to tackle the job when they were just emerging sprouts. I forgot how dense their roots are. I dug one variety planted close to my 'Do Tell' peony that's starting to spread after 15+ years. I couldn't lift the clump until I attacked it with my multipurpose trowel sawing it into smaller clumps. Amazing how a plant expands in size once lifted out of the ground. I planted a couple nice-size clumps between my 3-peony hedge and sort of scooped dirt over the remaining clumps because by then I was too tired to pot them. A good soaking rain kept them alive. I transplanted my lilac aucuba to a new berm amended with 3 bags of Land & Sea compost. I hope it does better in that sunnier spot. While I love lilacs, my housing development is named "Lilac Way," I'm growing this variety for the interesting variegated foliage. Great Garden Plants sent me a big box the other day so I have lots of work to prepare the places I'll plant these new guys. So much soil prep to complete first...weeds everywhere. Quack grass is the bain of my life, soon to be followed by crab grass if I don't finish spreading grass seed. Keep showing us your walkabout videos. In one day, tulips I'd planted last year went from barely open to absolute gorgeousness. I keep taking photos then deleting them as they progress into their full beauty. I love seeing everything waking up.

Strangely, weeding my flower beds often brings me joy. It can be very meditative and soothing. Walking around every day and seeing what is blooming brings me great joy. The first cup of coffee or tea in the morning, when the cats and I are the only ones awake is a favorite time of my day.

"Maple seedlings everywhere", well I'm glad I'm not the only one suffering with this issue this year! I have them by the hundreds in every bed. What a pain pulling them out. My neighbors Maple tree had so many helicopters this year, thousands and thousands of them came down....guess it's no surprise there are little trees growing out of control. Love the color on the screen door.

You wonder where you will plant and I wonder, do I have enough fencing to be able to plant. I tried this year to plant coneflower and extras on a path without fence and by the next day the rabbits ate the edges. I fenced it and they came back to eat the rest and weren’t happy. Your video was 2 weeks ago and I still have snaps, ect to get planted. Trying the Madame Butterfly and several other varieties and hope they winter over like some last year. The heat here in my garden yesterday was unbearable at 94F just northwest of you and the plants were transpiring and we tend to not get much rain here. Alert days for Monday and Tuesday for severe storms and wonder if I can finish planting. 😂 right, finish planting 😂. 😮you keep mentioning lily of the valley issue and I have a couple-I’m nervous as it reminds me of those hideous hostas that I can’t get rid of. I’m with you on a herbicide at this point and I garden organically. I’ve had some great surprises this year so far like a return of plants I thought were gonners and yesterday a pink Columbine 👏🏼. 🎉the BIGGEST Surprise🎉 I have a peony that has BUDS!! I have tried to get the peonies that were here before me to bloom for a decade!! I bought new ones two years ago and was just about to give up thinking there is just some reason they won’t bloom here and TaDa! I just planted alliums last year and noticed this year the tips turn yellow and others say that’s what they do before bloom and I thought it was our freezing temps. Thx for the tour!

Erin, I loved this video. I've watched many of yours (first-time commenter), but there was something about this one that stood out for me and that I particularly enjoyed. I think that it felt so...relaxed, and peaceful, I guess? Kind of hard to explain why. It made me feel peaceful about my own gardens and not anxious about everything that needs to be done and feeling like it's not pretty if it's not perfect. And you give me kind of "by the way" information (does that make sense?) that is really helpful to me. Thank you, and God bless you.
