2 years ago I taught myself how to sew, and since then I have sewn a lot of my clothes myself. Just now I completed my prom dress yayyyy And I found that you have one of the few channels on youtube that I can watch and learn. Most "sewing" videos, unfortunately, include girls hand stitching a piece of elastic to a bra and calling it a "caged bralette". Or worse even, they glue it on! So I find it absolutely delightful to know when I click on any of your videos I will see actual, proffesional sewing. Thank you so much!!!

I wasn't sure what I thought of it until I saw the finished pieces. You've given me some ideas for a long sleeveless cape/coat that I'm working on. I hope I'm not alone in saying that I don't mind the longer uploads. More process = more inspiration! Thanks for sharing all your beautiful work!

Honey, you should make yourself a rice bag. Just make a small bag and fill it with rice. When your neck is hurting heat the rice in the microwave and place it on your neck. Lay on a pillow or something to hold the bag in place. The heat will really help your neck. Also ibuprofen helps if you can take it . Combine the ibuprofen and the heat for a double bang. You might also find doing this when you go to bed will help relieve your pain so you can sleep. I also find ice packs to be a great pain reliever. Try both to see which one works better for you. I recommend this as a nurse with many years experience, plus someone with ruptured discs in my neck, so I’ve learned over the years how to deal with neck pain! Good luck.

I love the fabrics you buy and the information and details on prices and where you buy them that you mention in your videos . I'm not good at sewing without patterns but would love to learn how to make my own designs. Any advice would be so helpful and please continue with your awesome videos! Thank you and God bless you.

@Yuo77668 жыл бұрын
I have THE SAME questions. To me all these videos are very deceiving. We never see her do the actual work, just the easiest pieces. Then suddenly all the garment is complete and every costume she shows has such an unimaginable amount of work invested. She only says I did this, I'm going to do this but you never get to see the process 😒. The work is amazing, it seems the work of someone who has lots of experience and knowledge and a PURPOSE, not someone who does this as a hobby.
@AngelaClaytonCostumery8 жыл бұрын
I think you'll find most of these questions answered in my FAQ, which is linked in the description of all my videos! My Weekly Progress Logs just document what i'm up to throughout the week and what my headspace is like as i'm working on things. They give an overview of what I have in progress and how things are coming along. And usually a bit of information about projects that are too complicated to film the process of making. For actual footage of me sewing i'd suggest checking out my other videos (Making of, Walthroughs, Tutorials, etc.) which show the entire process of creating garments.
@acestrella938 жыл бұрын
+Angela Clayton I love all your work, and I follow you on your blog and I know that you upload the rest of your garments there, but how do you get the money for the materials, did you work in something else, you're such a talented girl and my role model!!! also can you make a video or post in your blog talking about your favorites books about sewing, I'm looking for new books but I can't find many only if I search it specifically by name or author thank you angel for answer me!! I'm your biggest fan!!

+Angela Clayton But what is your purpose on doing all these garments? Do you work for someone? I would like to know those things! Why are you doing specific historical pieces?

Hi Angela Your work is simply amazing, what you do is magic for me. I think you've heard that a lot but it'll never be enough Also I wanted to ask you something. How do you make a panneled skirt as long has that pink civil war era costume? Does it work just like a normal panneled skirt? How much fabric did you use for that one in the end? I'd like to do something like that but I still can't picture the exact way Thank you in advance
@dianasmith81666 жыл бұрын
Hi! Was nice to go through this video and get some things solid in my mind. I am making a 1866 evening gown with a twist. It took quite a bit of research to figure out what was appropriate. It needed to be post civil war, of course, and right for a matron, not a younger woman, and right for someone of middle income. My husband's restaurant is catering an historical society yearly ball. Since it is Laramie's 150th anniversary, it's a big deal. All servers, etc, are to be in costume, and these folks are picky. Needing extra servers, they asked for my help, but im not dressing like some young serving girl (they went a little too immodest with the costumes) but i could dress as a middle aged matron in her "best dress" who was asked to help. I love history, but had never explored this one before. Not sure of appropriate trim at sleeves and collar, though. Any suggestions?
