Your work is a testament of what you can do when you commit yourself to making steady progress, one thing at a time. It has to be very satisfying to see it all coming together so nicely. Good work Daryl the city of Morgan is taking shape. Paper is down next up plastering, painting, ballasting, and finally detailing with in a few weeks you will be done and off to the next section Aspin Tunnel to Carter and Granger then back to the lower level to build Taggart. Can't wait until I see trains blast out of Taggart this is the most scenic portion of the line the tracks cross the Weber River four times first on a truss bridge then they go into Hallow Tunnel and come out, then a combination of both a truss and a girder bridge, and then into Taggart Tunnel and onto a full truss bridge all the way to Devils Slide and Croydon. Can't wait until this is done.

Daryl - love the idea that Morgan is gonna be flatter than the other areas you’ve done. Looking forward as always to watching your scenery progress. Had a thought for you. You’ve made several comments in videos of needing to start weathering. One thing you could do to eliminate the shine on your models would be to dull coat everything; I personally use rustoleum matte clear. Just a thought. Hope you and the family have a very happy Easter!!
@EvanstonSub7 ай бұрын
It would still take a lot of timeto dull coat close to 600 cars and almost 60 locos
@mattm65847 ай бұрын
@@EvanstonSub that’s a lot of cars. lol Maybe dullcoat them when you get them?

Strip lighting would still work, but you'll want one with a lot more lumen output is all. Run 2 strips and a nice on off control and boom. Love the layout, just getting started myself!

One of the things I've done for those LED strip lights is to mount a piece of trim that has a 45 degree angle under the upper deck, then attach the lights to the angle so it is aimed at the backdrop. Right now, the one strip that is installed has almost no light aimed at the backdrop. The trim I use is about 3/4 of an inch square, but it is cut in half diagonally. I think Lowe's had it, not sure if Home Depot does.

Good idea. I'm going to try some 2" led shop lights.

Great work man. I enjoy especially how seamlessly your trains run. What's your trick there lol do they all have current keepers, do you keep your track super clean, or clean your wheels before each run ? It's crazy how, at least on video, I've never seen your engines jerk/studder, or even have a full stop and need help to regain communication.
@EvanstonSub7 ай бұрын
Only the ST locos have current keepers and most of my locos are soundtraxx. I rarely clean tracks. The secret is a lot of train running. I never give the tracks time to accumulate dirt.
@FlashJonesTrains7 ай бұрын
Wow okay gotcha. So let me ask then, what advice would you give modelers that may only be able to run trains once a week as pertaining to non current keeper locos studdering?
@Ozarktrains7 ай бұрын
Try some Barrina light fixtures. I think they might fit.
@EvanstonSub7 ай бұрын
I did. The lighting was two uneven. Also they were too expensive per linear foot.

The „TheKaty“ is such a beautiful Locomotive. Does anybody know in what time interval Athearn brings the heritage units? I know they just release 3 heritages for UP this month but not the TheKaty.
