If your local gunshop doesn't want to educate customers, you're probably spending time at the wrong gunshop. I understand what you mean though. I'm also amazed by the amount of stores I've been in where they act like they can't even be bothered. Even knowing I had a pocketful of cash money they would act like I was inflicting them with major inconvenience by asking questions about the differences in a couple models I was interested in. I haven't been back there for several years.

Most LGS owners don’t know this much about firearms systems or their history. For every knowledgeable person behind the gun store counter there are 10 trying to sell pink j frames to women, because they’re probably to weak to rack the slide. If you do find one with this knowledge be sure to support them so they don’t disappear.

@@videogamepolak0 I hope he does make money. That's the only way you stay in business. Profit is not a crime. Or a sin. If you sell him anything, you're paying for the convenience to do so as well as the piece of mind that you're not selling to a prohibited person. One of his last few videos discussed private sale vs consignment vs selling to a dealer. I highly suggest watching that. All that being said, Chris is actually really fair on his offers.

For most of us, this is a regular Sunday morning thing. Wouldn't miss it for the world. I typically watch it right before I head out on the back porch and sling some lead myself. My other 10am Sunday ritual.

I own a Remington rolling block No. 4 that I inherited. My father used it as a child squirrel hunting. It's a round head takedown screw, round barrel. Probably made in the mid to late 1920s. When I was a child I remember seeing the rifle at my grandfather's house and it had a bicycle inner tube under the front stock and looped around the breech block spur to hold the block closed. The finger spring that kept the block closed had failed somewhere along the way. After I inherited the gun I found a guy that sells parts for rolling blocks and was able to purchase a new finger spring. I had a local gunsmith put the new spring in and do some other tuning to get the gun working reliably. I pull it out of the safe occasionally to do some plinking with 22 shorts.

If you were an Australian: Hey everybody this is Chris with PointyThingsTV and also we buy pokers. If you have pointy things to sell we will give you a quote but make sure you apply for a license to sell pokeys and don't forget you have to do the "Thank you government" dance twice in a row at 5 Bongs of big Ben or Margaret Thatcherys ghost will kidnap you and force you to watch the British version of the office. Anyways starting off we have a toothpick I found on the ground in a Dennys parking lot when I visited America woops that's illegal looks like I'm off to jail.

I really liked that Sigma 380, especially that style of mag release on a backup gun. Would still carry it, but I could never get it to feed anything but fmj ammo. Sights were a joke too. But loved the size, much easier to shoot than modern pocket 380s.

Recoil issues on the KSG are a relatively easy fix. I put the Kel-Tec extended butt pad and the Hi-Tech Defender Muzzle Brake on mine and the recoil was mitigated quite nicely. It kicks less than my 870 now.

Hi Standard went out of business in 1993/94. Michell took over and had a couple of version made in 95/96 one model is STOEGER PRO SERIES 95 PISTOL 22 LR which I'm not sure how Stoeger got into the mix. Michell also marketed a version with his name on it. Michell must have been a primary employee/senior engineer to had a two year ride with the manufacturing before in 1997 everything was stopped/blocked with a cease and desist. And that was the end of Hi Standard and Michell. I had one of the STOEGER PRO SERIES 95 PISTOL 22 LR and they are rare and an accurate shooter with gold bits on both types. Beautiful guns.

I bought back in the early 80’s at a auction a AMT .45 Hardballer , it has after market grips on it , which is a little to big for me , just never have changed them . A couple of months ago I purchased a Arisaka Type 44 at a good price , mostly because the bayonet & hook has been removed . Mine is a early variation . In the butt stock mine has two holes , which later they change to a single hole . Also the front nose cap that supports the bayonet was changed 3 times , the spacing of the two support screws were moved farther apart , to help with rigidity of the cap for better support of the bayonet

Very cool video and I think you get a lot of your information right but I think the hook on the arisaka is for stacking the rifles together to keep them out of the dirt. Parrying a bayonet thrust with that would be almost impossible

Per the many resources I’ve looked at, the hook was intended replicate the hooked quillon of the Type 30 bayonet, which the Type 44 bayonet assembly replaced. I suppose it could have been used as a stacking implement as well.

In the KSG loading different amo types in the separate tubes (especially lethal and nonlethal!) sounds like a perfect recipe for disaster. There is no way of confirming what you have in the tube and a million ways to get it wrong. It’s honestly one of the most irresponsible ideas I have seen for firearm usage. I’m amazed that anyone would advocate such a system. There’s a reason that non-lethal shotgun’s are painted in bright fluorescent colors for police and that is so that the officers do not mix them up with a fire arm loaded with lethal rounds. So you’re telling me that someone, under adverse conditions, is just going to be able to keep track of all that in their head when trained officers need two separate units, one of which looking like it’s straight from a disco, to get it right!?!?! Bullshit! Such an idea compromises the integrity of anyone that utters the idea for any purpose other then to refute the it.

They are not. I race a DP-12 with half shells (26 shells.) against a IWI Tavor TS-12. (16 shells) And because of the technical difference I can dump 22 shells from the DP-12 in time it takes to shoot the 16 from the TS-12. And it is way faster than a Saiga 12 with 4 mags. Capacity, and the 2 at a time shots makes it faster at tube dumps. And reloading is easier and faster then mag stuffing. And these are some of the reasons why the DP-12 is better then semi-autos. But it is heavy at 11lbs stripped down weight it can be too much for ladies and small guys. Mine is loaded with the works package. And with a full load it comes in at 14.5 lbs. When it comes to laying down the hate, there is nothing better. Maybe a Seiga with a 25 shell drum. If you have ever seen a 25 shell mag you would know how impractical it can be.
