Traditionally plate racks were over a draining board and near a cooker range for serving food onto warm plates.Reduced the wear and tear with rotation,hence alot of plates So your instincts to buy alot are correct as homes with all its contents were really used.

Thank Sue. Yes, the still life was a beauty. It's was sold as a Christmas present last year ☺️. Of all jams, damson jam has to be my favourite.

@@elegantlyknackeredstyle It has been more than 20 years ago that I was there. I lived on Gozo, the smaller island next to Malta. Loved it there. It is perfect for divers.

The vase you bought,did you use a flower frog in it?.Loved the vase colour,so apt with the copper and wood in the kitchen..rich contrasts not clashing.

No, on this occasion I didn't need to use a frog. The rim is quite narrow which works perfectly.

There was a motar and pestle for sale in the town I live in ,similar in size to yours £15.00.very reasonable I thought.

This is a proper family holiday and the small bag is a deterrence to keep me away from vintage markets 🤣🤣 My family are well.pracrived in not over packing when we travel abroad by car. They know I will fill the boor with treasures.
