Because girl, something like this happened to me in the past and 15 years later… People came knocking at my employers door, trying to serve me with a judgment against me for that rent +15 years of interest! Hell, no, they didn’t get it, but it took five years to clear them from my record.

I was told just to get the car back to them and they will relinquish the contract. I did my part, but I was real young and naive then and believed them at their word, and did not get anything in writing about the contract being relinquished…15 years later, they tried to garnish my wages.

I’m going through this now. I moved in and it was filthy with BUGS! It has really been affecting my mental health. No one deserves to be unhappy in their home. Make sure you keep all that evidence you collected for a long time. Months later you could receive a bill like you broke the lease. I've seen that happen. These rental places are liars and once you sign the lease they will back out of everything they agreed to because it's usually a verbal agreement. I'm glad you have emails. Loving your growth.

Gworl, you said a mouth full and you’re SO right! Baby, this company I worked for played me the same way like I was stupid and not educated. They mistakenly had me all the way f’up! I took their ssa to court and it took time finding an attorney out of state to handle my case and THANK god they had a license to practice in my state. It took 18 months (stressful too) but let me tell you I prevailed laughed all the way to the bank giving thanks. You have to know your rights and don’t let ppl walk over you. Stand on business! Them folks thought I was going to take a severance package and move on. Hell no … I stood on business!!!
