Awesome watches Roy 😀🍿🎸🎶 I bought ‘Jewel Of The Nile’ on VHS a few month ago; ‘Alien’ is a stone cold classic; so glad you enjoyed ‘Bad Lieutenant’ mate; now you spoken highly of it; it might be one worth revisiting it with fresh eyes 😀👍 Hope you having a grand weekend man and all the best with Spurs today 😀🍿⚽️🍺🎸🎶

Hi Roy, nice mixed bag this week, yeah the two girls scene in Bad Lieutenant is the first thing I remember when the film is mentioned 😬 glad you enjoyed Wild Rose (Jessie started out on the talent show I’ll Do Anything that aired in 2008) I feel the same way about the Irish Republican Army in films, I (as you did) grew up in a time when it was unsafe to Christmas shop in London through fear of being blown to pieces, I actually worked in a hotel in Bristol that received a credible phone warning from that very organisation and we all had to evacuate. Anyway I’m digressing…. Nice picks this week Roy, take care mate👍😃👍

@kermitsghost hello Alan, digress away. I do enjoy an anecdote 😆 yep was scary times and they seem to get romanticised in films. It's a weird old world. Thanks mate 👍 👌

after loving your horror movie Top 10 gotta say i am suprised and pleased about someone praising one of my Top 3 movie ever and what a performance by Harvey Keitel who got robbed from an oscar that year.

Another good week there Roy! Definitely agree about the 4K of Alien, it looks absolutely stunning and made me appreciate the set design even more. Incredibly detailed and just phenomenal stuff. I've been keen to give Bad Liuetenant a go now for a while now, but it sounds like an even more brutal watch then I was thinking. I feel like I already have too many scenes that are burned permanently on my mind! I've also had Odd Man Out sat on my shelf for a while now as it's one from the 1001 movies list, but it's just never peaked my interest all that much, but one that I need to get to. I've been thinking about the Romancing the Stone/ Jewel of the Nile films recently and I must re-visit them. Such great fun where as you say, you can sit back and just enjoy.
@roybarratt5609Ай бұрын
@goosesmovies hello Warren. It was quite a dark week of watching so Jewel of the Nile was a perfect palette cleanser to round it off. I'd be interested to hear what you think of Bad Lieutenant. Very good but definitely not easy.

Hi Roy, I"m going through the Alien movies currently, ideally wouldn"t it be good if all the movies got the 4K upgrades 🤔, "Suburbicon" one i"m not too familiar but a solid cast, i really liked Abel Ferrara"s "King of New York" but wasn"t a fan of "Bad Lieutenant" even though i like Harvey Keitel. I really enjoy all Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner-Danny DeVito films "Romancing the stone" "The Jewel of the Nile" & "The War of the Roses" that they made together & i own all of them & might revisit them again, they had great chemistry together on screen. Fine movie watches there Roy 👍
@roybarratt5609Ай бұрын
@eastwood4lifefan334 hello Carlos. Totally opposite way round for me and them two Keitel films. I watched King of New York and couldn't work out what all the fuss was about. An Alien 4k boxset would be a thing of beauty 😍

I believe Odd Man Out won the first ever Bafta for best film. James Mason was a strange character having registered as a conscientious objector in WW2 and not served in the armed forces unlike many other actors he went on to star in a number of war films.
@roybarratt5609Ай бұрын
@@larryboyd5882 I didn't know that about Mason. I just thought it was very odd tonally. Great first half but went off the boil.

Jessie Buckley was a finalist on the BBC show, I’d do anything hosted by Graham Norton for the role of Nancy in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s revival of Oliver! (At the time of writing, a newer version is about to start playing in the West End.) They did various series towards recruiting a lead actress for Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s musical revivals, Roy.
