Professionals need to search out a known good when fixing a car. There are few advantages to amateur workflow, but one of them is the ability to take the time to learn our own baseline. Last year I went through the exercise of doing cam crank on two vehicles, it is a fun little project. I sure like this series, Chad. Thanks for taking your time to do this!

Thanks Dave, most of the known good waveform I have are from my own vehicles. When I got the picoscope years ago was spent a Saturday testing everything I could on my personal vehicles just to learn the operation of the scope and understand the signal acquisition process.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and videos. New to the channel and the whole process. Retired high performance aircraft trying to wrap my head around today’s cars and systems. Purchasing tools and equipment as financing allows. Have a single two and four channel scopes now learning how to interpret the images. Will go back and watch the seven other videos if they are still posted. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and videos. Artie 😊

It looks like you have some good scopes to work with. Welcome to the party!!!!

That old scope is awesome👍

the navigation reminds me of the uScope but I get 2 channels instead. I wish it could save the files internal instead of connecting to the Zeus. The zoom out feature took about 4 minutes. I'm not sure if the buffer is built into the tool and has to transfer all the data after the zoom button is pressed or if it slow because it wasn't designed to work with the Zeus.

Do you think you could find a scope with a SMALLER screen?
@ThePracticalMechanic Жыл бұрын
I actually have several with smaller screens. I try to use a variety of scopes because I don’t know what the end-user is going to be using to perform these tests. I like to show that it doesn’t matter what scope you have you can capture most of these waveforms.

I'm guessing it cost more than a $60 hantek?

How do I know if timing is offset

You have to find a known good waveform to compare to.
