Boyz ll Men is an r&b group not doo wop. Doo wop is more of a subgenre of r&b and had influence in rock and roll. Doo wop uses less instrumental than r&b and uses nonsensical syllables in their harmonies.(Ba ba la la wop wop) Acapella is done more so with this genre. It died down in the 60s. Although r&b has harmonies too it also blends jazz, blues and soul and doesn't really use nonsensical syllables. As r&b evolved with soul music it used influence from Doo wop. This was 90s r&b rich with layers of harmonies
