You have to see her perform this song live. There’s nothing like it. I’ve seen her live twice. And this song? With thousands singing along? Every word? It’s magical.

There’s nothing like seeing her live. My daughter got me into a couple songs and I took her to 2022 tour but had to go out of state since it sold out so fast. I was blown away by her performance and voice live. I would go a dozen more times

Just some context on this song. It was written about a guy Billie dated for about a year between the ages of 16-17. He was in his early 20s. So right there, it’s a bit off, but he was also reckless, neglectful, and emotionally abusive (you could argue that having sex with a 16 year old also constitutes further abuse). Billie was at the height of her success with her first album but was utterly depressed. As she says in the song, she didn’t listen to her family or friends about how toxic and inappropriate the relationship was because she was just a kid. Billie has had a long history of depression and self esteem/body image issues. The fact that this older guy wanted her made her feel special. She didn’t realize (or was in denial) until it was too late that the relationship was super unhealthy and abusive and the power dynamics were all screwed up. By the way, she also directed this music video. She’s been directing basically all of her music videos since about halfway through her first album, when she was 16. Before she directed her own videos, she was heavily involved in the creative process.I think her visuals are just as amazing as her music. She and Finneas (her brother, co writer, and producer) are an amazing team. I hope that clears some stuff up. And yeah, being famous sounds pretty awful to me. Whatever you gain, you can lose so much more and in much more significant ways. I think we need to continue to humanize celebrities and extend them empathy the way we would any other person, because that’s literally what they are. Sorry you guys get negative comments. I love your reactions. You make me laugh, you make great observation, and you’re both easy on the eyes. What’s not to like? 😂😅 Sorry for the novel. 😂Take care! ❤❤❤ Meghan

Aw, who would leave negative comments for you guys. ❤️ This song though, I never heard it before either, but she says something that really got to me about not saying anything bad about the person who was treating her so terribly because it’s embarrassing. Being in a relationship that is horrible and not being able to talk about it or admit that it’s happening to you is a real thing - who would believe that you would let it happen to you?

Billie just over the past year said that she deleted all social media apps off her cell (I’m guessing personal cell) because she said she was starting to believe all the negative shxt people said about her.

Classic feel to the first part. But the CHANGE is 'a day in the life' by The Beatles, and it's amazing. Go back and check my math....

Nothing like watching a 5+-minute composition with multiple parts/tempo changes and dramatic/beautiful cinematography ... and responding with "Is that it?"🤣 jk cheers!

They actually gave fans the roof shingles from this video a while back. They came with a purchase made from her merch store. Can’t remember what purchase it was..possibly the album? I wasn’t lucky enough to get a shingle 😖 😆

yeah, dude. what you were saying at 10:00 is so insightful. because that's how it rolls for people at her level. some bad take twitter scandal catches fire and entertainment news media regurgitates bad takes for the next few days. is it true? is it gossip? doesn't matter to any of them. does it get another click or like? that's the motivation. parasites.

This is when I fell in love with Billie. ❤ Especially touching when you had seen the documentary leading up to this with her shit head boyfriend. So happy that she kicked the hell out of him here. I am actually wondering if it is is 6/8 😊
