Just a fun fact/maybe just a fan theory: But this MV and the Blue Jeans MV are related. The old man here is the guy from Blue Jeans and he has lived his life after killing her. And in this MV, Lana is the ghost haunting him, and moreover she still loves him beyond the grave. "I can't help him, I can't do nothing about his strange weather. You are unfixable, I can't break through your world." And he still sees her everywhere, probably ridden with guilt. Especially the scenes of her in swimming pools. Just thought I'd give you the context why this MV and song are iconic.

This is one my favorite lana songs. I think in the video, Lana's an apparition of the old man's lover from his past who died and whom he can't get over. That's why he sees her everywhere, his hair (back) is tinged light blue (depression) and it matches the lyrics as well. If I remember correctly her early MVs were connected and in the born to die vid (which was released first), she dies at the end but the man lives.

When you guys were talking about how Lana loves California and how it has lost it's allure and luster, I wholly agree with you. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and it's a little painful how degraded this place has become. She even has an unreleased song called 'Hollywood's Dead' .. she wasn't wrong. It just keeps getting worse and worse, and I hope it can turn around or be revitalized one day, maybe when i'm older, but for now I just try not to think about it. I think there is 4 songs that tell the story and I believe this is last. For example he said that they are different men but it’s the same man who got old and couldn’t get over her.
