Your opinion the you like ween more then phish is based on your perspective of music and is totally valid. However if you were a musician it would be painfully obvious that phish is made up of far more superior musicians. I love both ween and phish, however it took me about a week to learn this entire album from start to finish. It has taken me a week or more to learn certain phish songs (see fluffhead, harry hood, YEM).

Saw dean ween last summer in Chicago. It was great, but I wish I could have seen the original ween. Maybe they'll play together again if we're lucky. Dean ween did have the bass player from ween with him, so that was cool.

Thanks for the post! I had forgotten what an awesome live set this was. This was probably representative of Ween at their pinnacle, their very best. It's hard to compare it to anything they are doing now--they don't seem to have the same energy, and Gene's singing has become terribly off-pitch. I wonder why the set list order is different than the DVD, and why some songs are omitted (where's "The Blarney Stone" and their kick-ass cover of "All My Love"?)...

Gener's singing career was characterized by a lot of substance abuse, and probably not the most disciplined practicing habits. The voice took a big hit getting clean. If you look at him now compared to 2016, he's getting a bit better at singing, and he looks far more healthy than he did in the past. The energy is definitely different. their live sets before he got clean we're starting to seem kind of rote, but now that they're all old bastards, they have to try a lot harder and it shows. I'm enjoying watching him take on what has become challenging material, because it's a lot more fun than watching him passionlessly wear himself down.
