Weepinbell Vs Victreebel: The Bellsprout Battle! Pokemon Red/Blue Solo Itemless Challenge Run

Playthrough Rules:
1. Only my selected pokemon in battle
2. No items in battle
3. No glitches or exploits (the badge boost and marowak skip permitted)
4. No Losing of ANY Kind (No Blackout Training)
5. No Double-Team TM before level 100*
Other Things to Know:
1. Pokeballs (HM Pokemon) are allowed in battle
2. I play the game at 4x game speed (238 frames per second)
3. My Pokemon have perfect DVs
4. Skipping the bike is not allowed
5. Saving between Elite 4 members is allowed
6. If the solo Pokemon faints and I choose to blackout it counts towards my reset counter and I still have to reset
Terms:
1. STAB
--- Same Type Attack Bonus - a 1.5x damage multiplier for using a move that shares it's type with the attacker
2. DVs
--- The Gen1 equivalent of IVs (individual values), these range from 0-15
3. Stat XP
--- The Gen1 equivalent of EVs. But unlike EVs, you can reach the limit with every stat

My play has gotten a lot better since the beginning. I feel like my times have reduced a lot of varience, and now the majority of the real time is battles. Although I can only imagine what kind of times I could get from unevolved pokemon.

Thanks, I was talking with gymleadermatt the other day. The ultimate goal is to start branching out and doing mdb like challenges. I've already done hm's only, but again ULTIMATE means after years. It will take me ages to create html and graphical setups for all the different games.

I understand where you're coming from, but I can't change the way I've established things on the channel. It's part of the challenge dealing with the moveset that it was given. It's not that I think it was indended for it to be left out, but I feel like it's an oversight when some moves get missed on their evolved form moveset.

I'm starting to learn that badge boosts are only an exploit to get you just over difficult hurdles. But aren't a substitute for good moves.

@@SteveMPlays I’ve done my fair share of Pokémon Challenges, the ability to win most battles is uncanny with high crit moves in gen 1.

I'm this case, it was a mixture of a lot of factors. But that one and body Slam made Victreebel much better than I expected. I didn't even consider Razor Leaf for Weepinbell because it wasn't going to be 100% chance to crit.

It's looking that way for a lot of badge boosting pokemon. It's starting to look like move diversity > Badge boost, unless it's a first form pokemon.
