In his review, Fantano said this song could've had more details about the sadness Rivers is feeling, but I personally feel like this is one of Rivers' most honest songs cause the man isn't trying to come up with a complex and intricate metaphor about his life, he's just sad the way we all are sometimes. We all have those things that we feel guilty about loving. And if most of us were to write a song about those feelings it would sound kinda like this cause it's not too clever or too technical, it's just fun

My favorite lyrics, "cause I need a friend when I take a walk, I like spacing out when somebody talks". Since this song has so much themes of depression I think that sums it up perfectly. When depressed you'd want someone there for you someone to listen, but depression and anxiety can consume one's thoughts so much so you're spaced zoned out not hearing out what that friend could be saying. You're so lost in the thoughts of depression saying otherwise to whatever they're trying to consolidate you with.

So out of boredom, I've been doing Weezer melodies and I decided to listen to All My Favorite Songs, which is a song I've heard a few times before. As someone who's finally trying to fix myself, knowing the things that I do and I think about me and everyone in my life... It's rare to hear a song that speaks to me so bluntly as I start to find myself. Thank you Weezer.

Weezer has haunted me throughout my recovery journey from all kinds of abuse and running running running trying to find somewhere safe enough find the peace to heal. Every time I'm on my last limb, I start them on shuffle, and usually the first song to play nails whatever I'm feeling. Now, I thought songs like the world has turned could never be topped in their impact they have had on me continuing to fight to understand myself and the world. This song has proved that wrong. I just got home from the hospital. Suicide attempt. Of course, loaded up the Weezer shuffle. This song was like a punch to the chest, almost literally. I found myself dissolved into sobs on the floor before I knew it. I needed to get this out. Thank you for helping me find the words to express myself when sometimes it's all I can do just to contain all that I am feeling inside. I'm the girl in the short skirt and a long jacket. Trust me, I'm just as beat up sometimes, dude. All I've got is my art and music in the end. Creating seems to merely be our attempts to grasp at a permeance which simply does not exist in the natural world. The struggle is real but so are the beautiful expressions which are born from it.

I'll try to express myself the best I can bc I suck at it: I wanted to say that I love this song, but love is kind of a meaningless word since everyone uses it so much. Instead i'll say that this lyrics makes me feel understood, like all what's wrong with me is not really that bad and i'm actually connected to someone who feels like this. I've been feeling lonely for a really long time and sometimes is just impossible to find something meaningful, that says exactly what i'm going through, and I 'm glad weezer could give lonely people some sort of voice

Agree with the "find something meaningful" part. Mental health can really suck all of the motivation out of you and give you a different outlook on life. For me it's just hard to find my "fix" whether it's interests or connections.
