I was there. In Guelph. Getting soaked to the bone. And I've watched this fragile little record of that shining seven minutes more times than I can count, and it still somehow feels new - I can still smell the rain, hear the thunder (which is mercifully missing from the audio), and it's the sweetest bit of comfort. It was the moment I went from being a fan to knowing Pallett's on his way to being a legend of Canadian music. Dig?

My heart is absolutely broken because I missed this. I had been looking forward to finally seeing Owen live at the hillside festival for months. But last minute, I found out that there was no way I could get there and everyone I was supposed to go with bailed. I ended up just moping all day at home. Now I see this gorgeous video and everyone talking about how it was the most amazing time of their life and I can't even express how disappointed I am.

Saw him again on Tuesday at the album release show. Saw a few faces from Hillside in the crowd. Watching this video again almost puts me in tears. I have a video from my vantage point of this in my profile. The crowd at hillside rocks. They chant for Owen and they chanted for the work of the sound guys.
