@@wehappyfewmusic I bet. My recent buy a 424mkiii ended up having a bad Monitor level pot. Was the only thing wrong with an otherwise top condition machine. Will be in the shop a fair while as they wait for the part to come in on one of their bulk part orders.

@@YY-bv3ik You’re welcome and I hope it helps you get up and running with your 488! 👍 I wiped tracks 5-7 by recording new music on them, but recording silence over the previous material would do the trick too.

@@mikepass4435 Many thanks and great to hear you found it useful! I kept it pretty simple for the transfer to my computer (no mix bus compression etc). I’d recommend allowing a fair bit of headroom when transferring to digital though and going for a highish sample rate though (I used 24bit 48khz). Also double check that you’ve got both channels balanced on your audio interface to keep the stereo imaging of your mix intact.

I'm curious, may I ask why you choose to use inputs 1 and 2 to record the drum machine to trax 1 and 2 instead of plugging into inputs 9-10, 11-12 which are stereo inputs. Thanks !

Hi there, partly by habit really but also so there’s the option of adding eq if required. The stereo inputs could be a good option though in some scenarios.👍

Can you explain why you have to use the tape cue like that instead of the faders?

The tape cue gives you a separate monitor mix and helps to prevent you from accidentally bouncing tracks together when overdubbing.
