When I refer to myself as Fat... The typical response I get to this I find very not only disturbing but extremely disheartening... "O you're not Fat!" "Why are you talking bad about yourself like that?" "You look great" ect... The problem may not seem that obvious... I am Fat... It is an accurate and honest description of my physical reality... I have absolutely no problem with the word or myself... The problem as you can see is the opinions, attitudes, and assumptions held by others... I'm am the Beautiful Me... Navigating and forced to exist in an ugly world... That demands I take up less space...

Same here. I was recently scolded for telling people I was fat in a meeting for fat people. I haven't been back. I want nothing to do with people who don't want to accept reality. Reality is what the facts are, not what we want it to be.

triglyceride has nothing to do with cholesterol. It's 3 linear molecules of fatty acids attached to one glycerine. cholesterol is a ring-shaped steroid based molecule. cholesterol is only made by animals (including humans) while triglyceride is also found/made by plants.
@devashishgole4722
@devashishgole4722 2 жыл бұрын
Cholesterol literally helps mobilize triglycerides & fatty acids across the body. Whether you're diabetic or doing some kind of fasting, if your body runs out of carbs then it shifts to breaking down fat to release all the stored up triglycerides (glycerol+long chain fatty acids) which then is transported with the help of LDL (peripheral mobilisation away from source) & HDL (central mobilisation towards liver). So, among numerous other roles, cholesterol is needed to help move fat when it's needed as an energy source. Higher the triglyceride levels, higher is the circulating levels of cholesterol.

General risks of being overweight -------------------- Generally, being overweight can come with all sorts of health problems. Carrying more pounds with us, we demand an extra effort from our body that affects the lungs and muscles. Plus, there's vulnerability to diabetes.

Me either! It's nonsense disguised as science. There is not a single people in the world who became obese without eating ANYTHING. Notice that in very poor countries, actually poor, there are fewer obese people than in the wealthy ones like the US, UK, Canada, etc.

All this lady has to show to prove her point, is a study that shows that (some) people who are on an energy deficit diet can gain fat weight and/or gain more fat weight than the energy they ingest. If she cannot do that, she is not describing reality, whether she believes it or not. Someone taking in 500 kcal will never gain 600 kcal worth of weight (unless he/she has œdema, but that is not an energy related issue). It is impossible. Reality is what the facts are, not what we would like it to be.

You can pick a couple of things to fight every day for the rest of your life. In a country like the US we are set up to have that challenged constantly. You can win with food one day but fail with spending, especially if your job and commute and neighborhood and blah blah blah are hyper stressful. There is research on this and it doesn't support your argument

the first part just sounds as a complex excuse for ppl to not take responsibility for their situation. (reminded me the vibe of... the more assured ppl sound the more ignorant or delusional they often are ) m... slightly fat children became the future fat dudes m... yes that's all because name-calling and not related at all to genetics right nutrition adjustments exercise sleep etc.. actually name-calling often crates enuff pain for ppl to take action it just that most common spread advice for obesity is the wrong one(ake most the fast dies or starvation regimes or overtraining) so let's just focus on not name-calling instead of figuring and spreading the right solutions... whole foods, no industrial oils, no sugars, moderate exercise, no wheat and grains, carbs mostly veggies fruits are just as treat, stable circadian cycle and relaxation with meditation for mental stability aka stress and cortisol removal. couldn't keep watching past her oghhh
@alr293

But name calling does not actually help anyone. Stress and depression caused by being treated as less-than probably add to obesity rather than take it away. There is a lot to learn about the biological causes of obesity still, but you cannot bully someone out of obesity anymore than you can bully someone out of being diabetic.
@alexaiz7521

being cruel to ppl is just being cruel to ppl. but obesity isn't some kind of mystery the knowledge is there for those who seek it and implementation will bring definite results. btw u can cure diabetes type 2 especially if u catch it sooner than later by a proper diet without carbs and sugars as time pass the system will normalize itself and the body will get some of its insulin sensitivity. we are what we eat (and think-cortisol-more then 2000 genes transcribed differently)

at 15:10 she tells a straightforward lie. Googling "white teens" brought up way the same amount or MORE mug shots when I tried it today compared to googling "black teens". Its unfortunate that googling white or black teens brings up mug shots in the first results...but it isn't evidence of race inequality or racism, unless you count teenager as a race. Frankly, it is disappointing when someone makes claims like this about racial inequality because all it does, imo, is further a narrative understanding that isn't based on facts...even worse, why does it seem like someone would like this example of racial inequality to exist? It would be awful if it did, but her claim about the google results is inaccurate.
