I'm in my final year of high school and I was SO fit at the beginning of this year. During lockdown I gained 5kg 😫 and I am really struggling to stay confident with my body. But hearing these messages really helps to bring me away from the self- hate and guilt. Thank you Raya

I was already 9 pounds overweight and now I’m one stone overweight, what bugs me is I’ve had these issues since I was 15. Was then 2 stone overweight. I’m now 18 and I’m determined to kick this for good!

Since lock down I'm ashamed to say I've gained a stone that I just recently lost. I've definitely been comfort eating and struggling to make changes. Yesterday I went on a 3 mile walk and felt great after it, so tomorrow I'm going to do 15 miles! As I know I will feel soo great after it, and I know this weight will come off me again soon. Needed this video! Thank you

Thank you so much Raya! I think this 'problem' is in a lot of minds at this time, including myself. At first I was very motivated with sports and healthy food, but it turned around April. During this month I simply ate because I was bored and ate more than usual. The though about gaining weight was always in my mind and bothered me. Now since May I'm finally motivated again and the 'problem' about gaining weight in this difficult time doesn't exist anymore. At the end of the day weight is just a number and as long as you don't gain an unhealthy amount of weight it's totally normal and okay during this time! Thank you again Raya for this video. A lot of people should be reminded about that. Greetings to you and stay healthy.

Thank you for this video! it's a great reminder that it's all a matter of control: staying healthy, sane, while staying happy and away from stress. I am definitely an emotional eater and a foodie. I'm definitely the heaviest I've ever been right now, but I'm grateful to be sane and have access to yummy food. I also do yoga at home, try to make and meditate often. Self care is key, and although I don't look at my best, I feel great, especially at a such complicated time. I try to help others and that makes me feel way better than looking thinner.

I have been putting all of my energy towards finishing my school work and distraction activities. I was trying to do a 2 week challenge but I struggle with asthma and chronic fatigue, so even when I’m motivated it’s really hard for me to keep up with an exercise program. I feel so, so, much guilt for struggling with this because I want so badly to be healthy, strong, and fit. I have become obsessive about the dysphoria between the way I look now and the way I used to look. It gets especially bad around my period and I just cry and worry about the frustration of feeling like I can’t do it or like I don’t have the control of my body to lose weight. Thank you for letting me know that it’s okay and that I don’t have to feel guilty

Raya, i have been watching some of your videos at your channel and at Louis'. You don't have to worry about your weight gain now. You look beautiful! it is a very difficult time for a lot of people during this Corona virus pandemic. A lot of people are used to going places as you and Louis do all the time. Also many people are dying around the world and this is the last thing to have to do is worry about eating too much or gaining weight. You are blessed to have good food, especially vegetables. i haven't been able to get fresh vegetables for a very long time now. You are a special person and we love you for who you are, not your body. i'm sorry you can't go to your favorite places. i also can not leave for a long time due to problems we are facing here on our property and home. You are a healthy woman and very blessed. Things will change and you will soon be able to go to your favorite classes again and see your beautiful friends. Bread is good for you. i'm originally from Germany and i grew up on bread. You will be fine. Thumbs up on your video. with Love, Sabiene

I feel like every time I start to really get to a good place with working out and begin to make progress, something always sidelined me. It’s a struggle. I’ve been doing a great job starting to run and do cardio since self isolating began. But yesterday I stubbed my toe so bad it turned purple so I need to stay off of it now 😭. Thanks for the kindness to self reminder!

I appreciate this video sm bc Ive struggle with my weight so much my whole life, and then before lockdown I was finally starting to see progress and loosing weight. Then lockdown happened and Ive started putting on weight :( This video honestly couldn't of come at a better time x

I will definitely be putting my most punishing pair of jeans that I realised didn't fit me again at the back of the wardrobe after watching this. It is so horrible for me that all my new size 10 clothes don't really fit any more and I'm back in my old clothes that I bought when I was at my worst mental health but this made me feel a tiny bit better 💛

OMG I SO FEEL YOU. I finally registered at the local gym in the UK where I study. I never understood why people went there, until I couldn't cycle in a safe environment anymore (I cycled every day in The Netherlands), got sick 3 times in 6 months and came to terms that I'll always be too thin. I increased the amount I went exercising every week. Yoga, Zumba, Pilates, Spinning... I arrived at 4 times a week in the week I had to move back home in The Netherlands. All I have energy for now is 10 minutes in the morning, 5 times. And that even took me a while to figure out.

I have stopped my diet for a change, I will start again soon, it gives my body a new kick start. I'm finding it hard today as my dad passed away this morning, so I'm grief eating . Wonderful video. I work at a hospital and all the extra precautions are stressful. I have tried to eat healthy, but sometimes having the pizza is a stress relief :)

Good message. Another reason not to beat yourself up over weight is that we all handle food differently and there is a genetic component to our weight. It may have to do with the type of bacteria we have in our colon, believe it or not, which is influenced by our genetics.

Just what I needed! Just like you Raya I had gotten into a great workout routine doing Zumba and had lost a good amount of weight. I have been so hard on myself constantly worrying that I’m gaining weight. I have a toddler and my priorities are to keep him and myself safe at the moment. I realized this 5 weeks changed some things about my body constitution...I started taking a long walk after each work day from home... I at least feel better about it...

I have been struggling to find motivation. University is closed but we still have assignments, but I find it so hard to study from home. I've been beating myself up, not regarding my body but rather my lack of productivity. I know I need to be kinder to myself because this time is definitely not the best for our mental health. As a bodybuilder i wont lie, its been Hardd, like 5 year Gone, amd it depressing but im just trying to enjoy this, i will always be fit workout i Lovee it so one day when i can i Will be back, but untill then i forgive myself , and will enjoy this one time opportunity, even it still gets hard🙂❤

I’m in not the greatest place confidence wise because my body is changing QUICKLY since I am pregnant. It seems silly and obviously it’s not shocking to have your body grow and change with pregnancy but the confidence still take a beating. This is a great video even for me. 😌👍

That is literally the most magical and beautiful thing of all time and your body is absolutely perfect. I’m actually really excited to be pregnant so for the first time I can look at my body with nothing but pure admiration and love. Congrats!!

I've been struggling with this a lot so this video has come at a perfect time! I had established a really good gym routine and I was getting to a strength that I had been working towards for a year, plus when we got the lockdown orders I was just getting back to the gym after a really bad chest infection! So I was feeling very guilty about what I was eating and I started to fall into bad eating habits last week so I am trying to put myself back together again. I know now I need to be able to let myself have a cake if it makes me happy, and to not feel guilty about losing muscle and gaining fat during this lockdown. Now, more than ever, we need to be kind to ourselves!

How quickly can someone slim down? At the beginning of March I started going to the gym. Only got to go like 3 or 4 times. Struggling with some weight stuff and trying to slim down but struggling....

Don’t worry about how quickly you can and honestly I’d recommend not putting the focus on ‘slimming down’. There’s definitely tips and tricks (some healthy, some not) but it often doesn’t last long when that’s where the focus is. I’d take this time to look into nutrition and get really educated on how to nourish your body in the best way and try to find some type of movement that you enjoy that you can do every day (could be yoga, waking, 10 min of jumping jacks or even dancing) and focus on small changes over a long period of time. What’s where the change will come from

this whole lockdown gig is a huge adjustment for everyone. i had a meltdown on my fb page about all the vile before & after lockdown, body-shaming posts i was seeing on my feed. they aren't jokes, they're mean & un-bloody-called-for!! it's been the best, seeing beautiful foodie posts of peoples extra cooking prowess during lockdown, WITHOUT any guilt captions bc they've gained a few cm around their waists. this virus is crippling us globally on the one hand, helping many people chillax, confront & identify with what's ACTUALLY important in their personal lives, on the other. taking the time (cos we have it) to food prep, therefore be mindful of balancing all that goes into our meals, getting some fresh air & singing with the renewed bird-life abundance, & dancing vigorously to a few tracks to get some sweat going, is kinder & more effective than conjuring paranoia that we're not doing enough. just do you peeps, & don't rate the hype that we're losing when we're not! Thank you for this video. I’ve lost 7 pounds throughout this quarantine 😞 I’m already too skinny to begin with and was on a journey to gain weight before all this craziness started. If anyone has any tips for me on how to gain weight that would be greatly appreciated! I have been following a vegan diet for the past 7 years. And I deal with a lot of anxiety (not corona related) which makes it hard to eat sometimes.

Idk if this is gonna help or not but I'd say remember that it's ok to eat on your own if it's more comfortable/easy for you (alot of ppl with anxiety tend to struggle more with eating infront of others 🥺🤷) 💕💕

Hey! I'm not sure if this will help but I use My Fitness Pal (the app) to track macros. So you can put in if how much weight you want to gain over a period of time and how active you are and it will calculate the amount of calories you need to eat per day, plus you can look at all of the macros individually and see how much carbs, protein, etc you need each day. I've been using it for a couple of years now and it has helped me massively getting all of the nutrients I need! Also just a note that if you don't hit the amounts it asks for that is also ok! It's impossible to police your eating so strictly every day, but it does help keeping me on track :)
