I just had my surgery on August 23rd and I am never anywhere without liquid within reaching distance.I just sip something constantly. I exercise at least 30 minutes a day and have only missed my protein goal five of the past 11 days. Even then I missed it by less than half. I would never have thought even at soft food stages to put pulled pork or whole chicken breast in my stomach. Chicken salad that has been pulverized is completely different from chicken breasts. I am still on the liquid phase and stick to that. The doctor's give out so much information about what you can have on each stage. Taking the risk to move beyond those items before they tell you it is time is very troubling. Stick to what you Doctor's tell you about the food you should and shouldn't eat at each stage. You can really harm yourself, including rupturing your stomach. This is as much a mental surgery as it is physical. Stay strong Booggie and stay safe with this.
@jimmerd7 жыл бұрын
Ezra Goldfinkelsteinberg no, he was sent to the emergency for his blood pressure. Eating pulled pork simply hurt his stomach a lot, which isn't surprising as he just had surgery on it

Ezra Goldfinkelsteinberg Good gawd! Maybe you should watch the freakin' video before you comment! You got everything wrong!! He was sent to the ER because of dehydration and because his blood pressure was out of control since he was taken off his blood pressure meds too soon. I just don't get people like you. The information is right there in the video. Either you didn't watch the video or you have no comprehension of the English language. Either way, you shouldn't be commenting on things you know absolutely nothing about or don't understand, especially when those comments are mean, vile, hateful, and downright nasty...probably a lot like you.

And Stuff Like That well said. It was indeed a risk. Even tho I was only a few days away from the solid food stage I should have waited those extra days.
@Friotx787 жыл бұрын
I don't even know if I would call it a risk. I was allowed to try moist meats at 6 weeks out and I couldn't tolerate it, but apart of the process is trying the foods so you know what you can and can't tolerate. EVENTUALLY it has it be done.

Hey boogie, this is my first time commenting on a KZbin video. I made an account just to do it. Anyway, I'm resident physician and I spent my intern year (first year of residency training) in a surgery program that does a lot of bariatric surgery. I spent a good amount of time caring for people post-operatively (they used to spend a night in the ICU, get downgraded when they can tolerate a certain amount of fluid and go home the next day or so) and seeing them in the emergency department for complications after bariatric surgery. This was about 5 or so years ago now. Currently, I'm in my fellowship training for interventional radiology but that surgical experience has really shaped how I am as an interventional radiologist. I never really knew any of these patients on a more personal level and although they were all treated with compassion and respect it's a great thing to see a patients perspective. You're an awesome guy and I wish I saw these videos back then. We learn about these surgeries from a very medical perspective and try to anticipate everything that the patient might feel or need. The insight you're providing through your experiences and especially anxieties is invaluable. You're doing a very good thing and I'm glad you're sharing this experience with everyone. Just know you're not just helping people who are on the same track as you but you're also helping the doctors who see this take care of their patients in a much more personal and relatable way. I hope this comment reaches you and I wish you the best. Stay strong and positive. I've already recommended you're channel to a few friends who are still in the bariatric surgery field and a few patients I've encountered who are either considering or going through bariatric surgery. I wish you the best and I'll be watching all your future updates.

Yet at the end of the month when I am low on money no one helps me out. I mean really why should I be forced to subsidize someone's , who is more wealthy then I am, medical care? Talk about the rich getting richer.
@janedoe61817 жыл бұрын
MP USMC SRT It's only been a couple of months. Are you expecting a complete transformation by now?!?!?! Do you think he should be out there training for a marathon already??? He's still feeling like crap from the surgery. His body is going through some serious changes and just about every aspect of Boogie's life has changed. Give him some time to adjust to all of these changes and let his body adjust and heal. If he isn't eating healthy and trying to exercise in a few more months, after his body has had a chance to heal and Boogie is feeling better and had some time to adjust to his new life, then maybe your mean and uncalled for comments won't be as out of line.

Its not the stomach u should train, its the way you eat and drink. Take small sips and bites. Chew more than 25 times and take your time, to eatr or drink. pause and then continue. Blood pressure tend to variate in us bariatric patients, and also watch for the dumping syndrome ( when food travels too fast through your system, if u feel nausea fatigue and diarrhea, its the dumping syndrome ) Its really hard, at least it was for me , but in the end youll get the hold of it. Its been 7 years since my surgery and i eat and drink normally now. i was 275 , now im 170.

Is there any way that you could get a drip and administer fluids at home? My sister had the same condition that Dutchess Kathrine has during pregnancy and she was so dehydrated she needed to get a drip put in and had fluids 12 hours a day. And my resting blood pressure is 80/50 and I have to warn nurses before they take it as I had a nurse freak out when he saw my blood pressure and ran out of my room to get the supervisor. Every day will get better and I recommend when you start to get into "standard" sizes go to the thrift stores to get new clothes until you are at your final size. Also as you grow out of clothes donate those back so that other gentleman going through your journey can find some clothes to wear. I have dropped 6 sizes since may and this has helped me a lot to save some money but still look stylish.

mandy Pe that wouldnt be good, when in these recovery processes you dont want to give your body a crutch like that. In general when you are in recover for the purpose of making your body stronger, you want to learn how to adapt and get into steady habits that will rehabilitate you. Only use those crutches like iv fluids in that emergency sotuation where it would be too hard to get anyrhing otherwise, or when its too late to get fluids naturally. I speak of this through experience of my many broken bones and physical therapy i had to go through so take it lightly.
@mandype5767 жыл бұрын
Yeah I am not sure that broken bones are the same as changing the way you eat completely through surgery but I can kinda understand the logic. But if you can not get the fluids you need regularly to the point of dizziness you might need more help for a while. I do find it interesting I mentioned the Duchess being pregnant the same day they announce she is pregnant again.

Boogie im battling anorexia recently caused by ptsd's chronic nightmares and flashbacks from mental abuse and a series of tragic close family deaths decensitising me to life and death causing suicidal thoughts bding diagnosed with major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder,paranoid personality disorder, and schizophrenic tendencies where the voices get so violent but i watch you for inspiration to keep moving forward and thanks to you i can try and pursue relationships with girls that may be very difficult due to my anxiety and self doubt but its worth it. I even wrote a poem im putting up for colege about an orphan battling substance abuse issues as well as various mental disorders similar to you and i he eventually betters his life through hard work and effort quitting the drugs and openning an orphanage for kids with similar bad starts in life. He wishes to better himself as well as others which is why i joined the Big Brother program. Helping kids who have experienced family loss and poverty similar to me. My mother worked her hardest to give us the life she couldnt have so with full pellgrant in hand i will make her proud dealing with life's worst. PS Im sorry for venting but anyone with depression knows it gets to the point where an idol giving advice might be the reason i get out of bed in the morning with low motivation for basicly anything. Please continue to live life it does get better as long as you work on your issues through therapy and medication. Meds kept me from hurting myself fist wise theough the worst of panic atacks. Love you all good luck Boogie Plz right back it would make my day!🖤

wildboy789789 Agreed. Plasma is a big part of our blood and a big part of that is water and when there's not enough water to satisfy that need in order to keep it flowing smooth then it gets thick so then your heart must beat harder because thick blood = less flow = less oxygen so your heart must beat harder and faster to make up for it. `disclaimer: I'm not a PhD im a middle school student who passed biology last year`

@NeuronalAxon7 жыл бұрын
I don't think it actually 'thickens your blood' thus making it 'harder to pump around' etc. - it'll be kinda like blood pH - there will be a _very_ narrow band of what the body is capable of dealing with. I _think_ that with the dehydration, it's more to do with electrolyte levels, and the body's (in)ability to get rid of toxins and perform other chemical functions that require lots of water.

Hey, I just had the surgery a week and a half ago. If you want to talk I am open to it. I have been keeping videos on my channel about my progress to and through the surgery. It is a hard thing to do without proper support, but if you put your mind to it, all things are possible. It is a really interesting experience through and through. Let me know if you need/want to talk. I am not Booggie, but like I said, just had mine on August 23rd.
