Bear down and contract upper abs
Pull your shoulders over your hips
Pull your hips under your shoulders
If you struggle contacting your lower abs use:
Resisted leg lowers, decline crunches, hanging leg raises…
Once you engage upper and lower abs, now you need to generate intra-abdominal pressure
Take a deep breath into your diaghram
Using a belt may be very very helpful
It can provide a kinestetic cue
If you’re using the belt correctly, you’re using the abs just as hard as you would without the belt
If you use the belt as a crutch, then it will take away from yourself
