Points to note with 1986 HW77k grease less is more chrono tests Full of grease = 9.56 lbs No grease minimal with new drop in kit 11.5lbs don't cover the spring ,also if parts are to polished the moly grease will have a problem sticking to the over polished parts 500 pellets latter shoots 179m sec every shot is consistent no noise works a treat

Do you take a claw hammer to every rifle you work on? I'd have used something like a jar lid remover with an adjustable soft belt.

Good video but I do take issue with the minimal grease used , these parts of a spring airgun are under great pressure and stress . I know over lubrication detracts performance but under lubrication will strip the internals to shredds unless you strip and re lub on a very regular basis.

@@airriflesuk5997 true everyone is different. Only Saying from my point though , my 80 is 35 years old and still as crisp as new . I've always had the tendency to over lube it and although it does take the power down a tad ( not a bad thing because its right on on the limit) it makes it a smother gun .

It will not fit, HW80 is breakbarrel, the HW97k is underlever. Different type of action. HW77K stock will fit in HW97K.

I thought only the piston seal made contact with the cylinder wall, much the same as an actual motor pistonCh

Straightforward no-nonsense, but he does make it look easy in his videos as the gun that he’s been working on has already been stripped minus all the awkward tight parts You will definitely come up against.

I've heard and read that you shouldn't take the piston to a mirror finish? as the grooves in the slightly coarse finish hold the grease lube better rather than it not being retained on a smooth and highly polished finish?

@union310 as in piston bores in engines they are honed not to mirror finishes and when you open up an engine you can clearly see the honing marks 👍

Mine lost power when I fitted the kit ,I ended up with a new spring and seal up to just over 11flbs and silky smooth and quite

Iv always used silicone oil on the piston seal its synthetic . Moly is no good , also put a rubber 30mm od with 16mm id 2mm high density rubber washer against the trigger block , if a top hat works then the washer deffinately does,

hw80 and beeman R1 are the same it's just the beeman people had a contract so weihrauch stamped them with the beeman name I have a R1 ,R9 and a ,P1 all .177 and a crow magnum .22 with the beeman stamp

This is wrong you don't polish the piston up to a deep shine because the grease that goes on will not stick to smooth metal hence why they come dulled I spoke with weihrauch about this so your wrong
