The stock is a beautiful colour. Seems accurate and if it feels smoother, job done! Great video.

Oh well, no idea what's going on. Chrono says 8ft Ibs with a Titan XS spring and a washer??

@@keith6930 That is strange. I have only heard good things about Titan XS springs. You could try some research on the various forums.

Very interesting video well done with the logic I’ve been there many times with the variables it’s a constant work and labour of Love but at best a mental stimulating ideology that’s what makes us doo stuff and intelligence you have in these trials enjoyed much.

The HW35 is a great air rifle, way better than the most modern crap. Why change what is good. I own almost all HW springer models and the 35 is one of my favorites, specially for hunting. Cheers!

@@raydaniko-qm5cj Hello! High power springers are always louder just because of the longer and stronger spring. A tuning kit will reduce the mechanical noise a bit, but you will never get a quiet air gun. This is also the reason why i always say that a moderator on a springer will make a very little difference. If you want something more quiet you have to go down in power or get yourself a PCP. Cheers!

i've just put a spring in mine and it has 26 coils a tinbun top hat and guide the coil diameter was 3.5mm , it does have quite a bit of preload approx 2.5 inches which isn't easy to install as i used a large sash clamp and had to mark where the threads off the cylinder and end cap 1st mesh to make life easier. then i put them both in the sash clamp pushed the end cap until it stopped , then started to turn the end-cap with a large spanner as a lever in the trigger orifice whilst at the same time keeping the pressure on by turning the sash clamp vice, its took a few attempts but yo must be patient and wear gloves, but it would be easier if you had and extra pair of hands for that bit. mines now stop on on power just under the 12 ftlbs it was only doing 9.5-10 ftlbs on its old spring. i didn't have to squash any coils. 26 full coils goes in lovely and there's just enough room for one 3mm power washer if need be ?

mines a mid 1990's model with a plastic piston seal . i had to change the spring as it only has enough room for one 3mm power washer as it was and it would still have been well under power . obviously they wasn't much pre-load on the worn out spring although it looked nice and straight still but the coils had lost their boign and collapsed approx 2inches shorter than the replacement even though the replacement had the same amount of coils and wire diameter.

The TBT spring and the Titan X's main spring were all too long for the action to cock. It became coil bound and wouldn't cock so needed to be trimmed down a bit. Shame as would have been nice to have a drop in kit "drop in". No matter the spring the power has never been fantastic or even near the 12ft Ibs? It's a .177 so wondering if it's a transfer port issue more than a main spring? Might account for the noise and crack when fired? It's now got a Vortek kit, a very nice and well built drop in kit kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZisaoafo8p6fZosi=ew1zSUylsZ_ggfOB

Hi I used PTFE sheet to make a piston liner to get a nice fit between the spring OD and the piston ID on my FWB 127 Helped to reduce twang and some vibration noise and made cocking smoother. It comes in sheets of different thicknesses and I got it on eBay. Seem to recall it was 0.5 or 1mm? Not been to Pete’s for ages, might have to get back into air gunning and pop over there, it’s only 20mins away😊
@keith6930 Жыл бұрын
I think it's 0.5mm that's best or needed for the springers. Probably a better option than a steel one?

Might need to replace the piston seal or the breech seal.

People say the 35s are best at around 10.5 ft/lb and more power ruins the shot, thats true on the early 35s but later one's can be tuned to 14ft/lb and in 22 they shoot great at that, mines doing 14ft using FTTs, dont try it on the older ones with the larger transfer port, 4mm l think, later one's are 2.8mm.

True, the power on the .77 has never been huge and always around the 10-10 1/2 I'm in the process of swapping to a .22 and it will be interesting to see how the same gun shoots with the larger calibre. I suspect more power and a softer shot cycle
