Weihrauch HW97 grouping at 64m

Following ‪@vincentenglish8489‬ recent videos of 100m shooting with a springer, I thought I'd try to shoot as far as practicable at the range.
Not quite 100m, only 64m but still a fair way outside and with a springer

That's a really nice group there in the center! That's 69 yards for those of us that think in yards 😆. Vin inspired me to shoot cans off hand at 100 yards my last little outing. Was really fun, just didn't have much time.

Enjoy, would probably need to re zero a little more than 30 odd yards to reduce the hold over. I'll give it a go next time out

@@keith6930 That's true. I actually shot quite a bit at 100 yards off hand back 15 or so years ago with a springer. Then I joined a forum and they claimed it wasn't possible lol. When I was growing up I had no idea how far 100 yards was because I was out shooting instead of playing football lol. I shot Benjamins and Sheridan's back then and just knew how much to hold over with iron sights lol. I just wasn't sure I could still do it.

I have seen my Beeman/HW 77 .177 group real nice at 100 yards with zero wind. No power but groups were good!

It probably would have been a pretty sight as I was bent up and cramped at the bench to get the angle on the target 😂

Hi, is your gun standard, or has it been tuned,I bought a 97 in blue laminate earlier this year and to me feels to have a fair old recoil kick and twang to it, much more than what yours appears to have, chrono'd at about 11.3 a month ago, thinking of buying a kit to see if it makes it more pleasureable to shoot

I was impressed at your shooting and was wondering what power and fps you are running the 97 at,I have a 97 and at the moment it shoots Baracuda light at 685fps 9.97fpe and AA 8.4gns at 765 fps 10.91fpe.At the moment I am shooting at 48yds at home but would like to shoot out much further,do you think the power I have will be enough,or do you have your gun set a bit higher.Many thanks.

Should be plenty. I was using JSB and switched to H&N after and had trouble with the same aim point and hold over despite being similar weights. I think the H&N lead make up results in slower speed and reduced power compared to the softer JSB? When I fitted the Vortek Kit I had the following chrono: 10.49gr at 10.7ftIbs 8.44gr at 11.8ftIbs I don't recall testing the 10.34gr JSB Heavy, or even shooting them much before this day for that matter so not sure where they are power wise?

It's got some legs on it if I could find a longer stretch to shoot. Be interesting to get a chrono result down range and see just how much FPS and power it's got

If this was yesterday it was perfect, i stuck my head in there last night but ended up in the 35 barn for a re zero, minimal in no wind and the sun was still shining 😊
