Romance languages can be very difficult to a lot of people. I have met a lot of people who have said to me that they're italian or hispanic but they can't speak the repective languages of these cultures, however, when I explain to them a word or phrase in any of these languages they pronounce it very easily, they are capable of rolling their r etc... On the other hand, people whose family background isn't latin (Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Romania and these countries' colonies), have it more difficult. Back in 2012 when I started following you channel, you had a good accent and horrible grammar. listening to you today, I just can't help but to say, it runs in the blood, I have seen other Americans who have actually lived in italy and their grammar is good but their pronunciation is not nearly as good as yours. I speak Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, but English pronunciation it's never been easy for me, although I went to high school and lived 8 years here in Florida, but when I speak italian or portuguese they think I'm a native speaker. I'm glad you've decided to take up another romance language, I'm sure you'll learn it easily, maybe one of these days you make a video showing your progress. You are such an inspiration to those who want to learn, not any language, but the languange of their ancestors. Good luck man, and as always thanks for you great tips.

ahaha Tom you make me laugh when you translate literally some expressions into Italian!!! e.g.: “in this respect” -- “in questo rispetto” (because we don’t use this expression in Italian) / “pezzo di consiglio” and so on... However, your Italian is very very good!

Matheus Pereira the best Italian channels if you ask me are Yotobi, Croix89 (he's got a somewhat thick Sicilian accent though), Dario Moccia, Marco Burberi and Scottecs. I don't know many channels to learn Italian but Weila Tom and Briller are very good if you already know English and you want to refine your Italian

Hi Matheus. Besides looking at Tom, who is terrific, as you know, there is also Italy Made Easy with Manu and Learn Italian with Lucrezia. Both are great sources. I have been studying Italiano for about two years and have learned most of it with DuoLingo which is a free language app. Worth checking it out. Spero che questa informazione sia utile per te.

Hi Tom! I am an Italian speaker. I am following you on KZbin to improve a little my English. I was living in the Netherland last year. Now that I am back I am afraid of loosing everything that I learned. So I am trying to read books and watch movies in English (with English subtitles) as much as possible. But what I am missing most is speaking with real people. I still have some friends abroad, but we are not in touch that often. Watching your videos makes me happy.
