@@mismatchedlyrics5207 they may have done a lot of evil things but they also did some great things as well. A lot of the former British colonies are in my view slightly better off then the former French, German or Belgian colonies which were subjected to nothing more then racism and theft! At least the British with all the evil they did most certainly do also make an effort to educate there former subjects and build good infrastructure. Look at Africa, the countries that used to be British look slightly better in terms of infrastructure then the countries that used to be French. In the Caribbean the former British colonies have a slightly better educational regime and great universities that the British created as opposed to Hati which used to be French!

Just wonderful, hope they keep up with these traditions just as they have been doing and not try to water them down to fit the modern sensibilities. People may not realize it, but traditions go a long way in instilling in people respect for each other, respect, and appreciation for the country and its culture. When you don't have then we slowly start to have what we have in the US, where every group thinks only in terms of their group and whines about they need to be acknowledged.

In the United States, a designated survivor (or designated successor) is a named individual in the presidential line of succession, chosen to stay at an undisclosed secure location, away from events such as State of the Union addresses and presidential inaugurations. A quaint and perhaps (or not) antiquated tradition, until you think of the consequences of a terrorist (foreign or domestic) attack that kills those in the line of succession. Traditions serve to remind us of the past, eg the ceremonial search for a latter day Guy Fawkes.

This channel is produced by ITN Productions ... ITN (Independent Television News) being the news provider for ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5. I agree with you, that the headlines they use for these YT items are often glib and (quite frankly) disrespectful towards the subjects they cover, regarding the RF and various British traditions and ceremonies. Perhaps they think they are instilling some "humour" into the headline, to grab attention, but common sense would tell them that most viewers watch this channel because they are interested in the Royal Family and don't appreciate it being "dumbed down" !

Of course, ITV, Chris Ship etc are pro Sussex and bought the Opera thing. In my view the Sussex clan shouldn't be on here at all. Not only is this channel dumbing down but it's also confusing celebrities with royalty. I try not to visit here much but I deliberately 'like' the actual royal stuff to show support.
