@@paarmenion3635 They are French territories, they are considered as "protectorates", also called in French as "Domaine national français en Terre sainte" (eng: French National Domain in the Holy Land). It is composed of 4 sites : Church of Pater Noster, Benedictine monastery in Abu Gosh, Tombs of the Kings, Church of Saint Anne. Here's a quick explanation about how it happened and why it happened. - The first of the French possessions is the Sainte-Anne church. It was offered to the Emperor Napoleon III by Abdülmecid I in 1856 in gratitude for the French intervention during the Crimean War which had just ended. - The land on which stands the Church of Pater Noster (or Éléona) was acquired in 1856 by Héloïse de la Tour d'Auvergne who had a monastery built there by the architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. Héloïse donated it to France in 1874 - The Tomb of the Kings was excavated by French archaeologists from 1863, before being acquired by the Pereire brothers, bankers by trade, in 1871. They donated the site to the French State in 1886 "to keep it for knowledge and to the veneration of the faithful children of Israel”. - The Abu Gosh monastery was given to France in 1873 by Sultan Abdulaziz in compensation for the loss of the Saint-Georges de Lod church, given to the Greek Orthodox two years earlier. The French possessions have never been questioned, the agreements of Mytilene in 1901 then of Constantinople in 1913 concluded with the Sublime Porte having confirmed the "protectorate" of France on these territories. These were confirmed by the successors of the Ottoman Empire: the State of Israel in 1949 (Chauvel/Ficher agreement, not officially ratified by Israel) and the Palestinian Authority in 1997. , Israel holds the view that its 1948 Declaration of Independence created a new international personality which is not a successor state of the Ottoman Empire or the British Mandate, and consequently it is only bound by those former international obligations affecting the territory as Israel might accept. Under Israeli law, the Knesset must ratify international agreements before they become part of domestic law, which it has never done in the case of the Fischer-Chauvel Agreement. However and , Israel has maintained the previous tax exemptions and privileges of the sites claimed as "Domaine national".
