For the 1st point it is absolutely correct. 10 out of 10 Hong Konger including myself lose significantly much more hair once we move to the UK, and a guy I know even chose to move from London to Birmingham because he almost lost all his hair and had no choice but to move to somewhere that water is less hard.

生活在澳洲多年,这个系列视频解答了我不少疑问。多谢! 有一些习惯是有科学依据,有一些就纯粹是“传统习惯” :) 想想不能当着别人面打饱嗝,应该是传统。 I have been living in Australia for more than 10 years. These video series answered a lot of questions in my mind, as most of the habits are the same for Oz. Some of them have certain scientific base, others are pure tradition, like no belch in front of others. :)
When you're looking to protect your tooth enamel, brushing right after you wake up in the morning is better than brushing your teeth after breakfast. Many experts, including the British Dental and Health Foundation, Mayo Clinic and the NHS, recommend brushing before breakfast.

Heat the tap water to 40 degrees Celsius. If the taste and smell are acceptable after heating, you can drink it directly.
I lived in UK for four years then now being living in Germany. I think more than half of these points she just talked about do not only happen in UK. Most western people do them indeed. But for Asian countries, they are definitely not that common. And as for brushing teeth after breakfast, I think this is a very correct behavior, dentists do suggest people do it, and most Asians still brush teeth before breakfast. As for tea issue, drinking tea for British is like a part of the life.

1) Drinking from the tap: One should only drink from the kitchen tap, and cold water only in a house. (Plumbing rule requests cold water from kitchen tap must come directly from the water mains) Tap in toilet, and hot water at the kitchen sink may come from a water tank and not directly from the mains. 2) Teeth brushing after breakfast Dentists are now recommend wait an hour after eating before brushing our teeth, when the enamel is soften and brushing can cause damage. 3) Using deodorant I picked up this when I was studying UK. The whole basketball team use it after shower so I would look weird if I don't. Now I am back in HK, I only use it in summers.

Shower more than once a day is counter productive in terms of hygiene. Skin needs grease so it is not too dry. I like the pretty girl orange sweater on the cover.
Firstly, I don't drink water from tap, as the water is not clean before boiling it first. Then, flushing restroom paper is what we do when cleaning, as well as showering in the morning can make us feel cool/not feeling hot. But I only showered once every day. Also, vacuuming every day is essential to tidiness in the house. Next, I have never been asked whether I want tea in my life or washing clothes with hot water, while I usually brush my teeth before breakfast and sleeping without locking our bedrooms. After that, some of my foreign classmates used deodorant for no reason, and the smell is so strong. Finally, we are always careful to wash up, to maintain skin health.
Working in COSTA UK, staff washing the dishes and cups without rinsing the water. Simply bubbles dished and hanging to be dry.

A good idea is to rinse your mouth (or use mouthwash) when you wake up to reduce odour and keep your mouth less dry, and then brush your teeth after breakfast.

Asian does this, we call it “cham” in cantonese. In the UK long ago this white secretary colleague was totally shocked see this mixture done by another asia colleague in the office pantry. I am ok drinking this mixture in my younger days but somehow I hate this now. I now enjoy either earl grey tea or filtered grounded dark roast coffee beans. A mixture taste weird now.

One of my theories for the male pattern baldness in the UK is because of the rain. During my time in the UK, I observed that a lot of men tend to not use umbrella during rainy days, the direct exposure to rain just damage their hair.

@alvinlum1232 жыл бұрын
@@aitilangActually this may not be a joke. The air has carbon dioxide due to fossil fuel burning. If you studied chemistry you would know that when water touches carbon dioxide, straight away produces carbonic acid and in a lab test it even made litmus paper turn pinkish. So if rain becomes carbonic acid (also know as acid rain) is left to dry on the scalp it might make more hair fall off!

Two things I found quite interesting, the on/off button for the toilet fan is put way too high for a regular height person to reach, always an inch or two from the ceiling. The other thing is there is no on/off button for toilet light. Instead, they use a string. They also link the fan and light together. When you pull the string, both will be on. If you don’t want the fan on, you have to climb up to physically turn it off.
@edleung40462 жыл бұрын
Haha, this is the code of practice for electrical installation, it is a safety feature to prevent electric shock when your hands are wet, or when the toilet is filled with mist. The alternative is to put all the switches on the outside of the toilets, which seems not popular in UK.

I wanna make a point is the tapwater indeed is perfectly clean at the moment when it’s still in the water factory, but the problem is all the pipes that the water go through before it arrives to your tap are not guaranteed to be good. the pipes might be old, rusty, poorly sealed, wrong piping system,cleanliness of the water tank in your building, water might get polluted easily
I was told by a doctor you need to wait for 30min after a meal before brushing your teeth to avoid damage to your teeth.
