I love weird action figures so much. And the great thing is, they're often the cheap ones! Which is nice as the price of old toys has gone through the roof over the last few years.
In this video of exciting items from the Norwich Toy Fair, we have:
Hairy Snake Man
Rubber Not Hulk
Big Green Pirate
Fancy Cyborg
Evil TV Face
Giant Mutant Fish Boi
Friendly Pink Guy
Angry Red Boi
Surprised Big Hair
Peeved Big Hair
Bad Old Bald Man
Rude Police
What more could you ask for?

Troll dolls were a single piece of hollow plastic with the hair rooted into the head, so they would've had to do some extra work to make it into an action figure head, but that's still possible.

@@kharnifex nope I saw plenty of these figures sold in packaging back in the day at Sunday markets in the UK and various cheaper toy shops was just a variation on sungold or remco figure bodies with a troll head on and they did that a lot same bodies and would add dragon heads or snake men heads or wolf heads with same muscle body and they were cheap to buy and basically knock off Motu figures.

I remember an anecdote from the guy who designed that specific Street Shark: apparently he was rushed and, when time came to design the character's shoes, he looked down and just copied the Doc Martins he was wearing. Also, the rubber main body was so you could move the hard plastic fin behind the head up and down to make the toy "bite" with its ginormous maw. That was honestly my favorite part of the line, you could make them eat other action figures.

The first rubber figure is called a dangler and they were sold allover Blackpool and those type of places. The reason batman has the sort of furry styled skin is because the original figure was actually a Wolfman/werewolf and they reused the body for batman. You could also get a red devil dangler a werewolf and batman and skeletons

"Troll Force" is probably one of the greatest bootleg lines. For those unfamiliar they took knock off MOTU bodies (from the "Freedom Fighters" branch of the "Galaxy Warriors" family tree) and stuck troll heads on them and themed them from various 80's pop culture things. There was a pair of wrestlers (one of them a rip off Hulk Hogan) a pair of generic ninjas, a pair of super heroes (rip off Superman and Incredible Hulk) a pair of generic soldiers, a pair of "medieval warriors" (one of which is just in a BDSM outfit) and a pair of "Future Fighters" (a cyborg and a rip off Terminator)

In the earliest of the 90s or the end of the 80s, my mom taped balloons all over my body for Halloween, and to this day I still remember being cold and crying and scared of them when they popped, I must have been 3 or 4. For the record, I think most of them popped... But I was better at crying, than I was at counting, and all I can remember is crying and being scared and cold, also the balloons may have been blue or green. One of them is like the coolest action figure ever: His limbs are very solid, but his body is made of rubber; if you pull his backfin up and down, he does a biting move; if you pull his right hand back and release it, he does a big punch; he's 100% waterproof, like a real shark, so a kid can play with him even in the bathtub, without the worry of his screws rusting; and his teeth glow in the dark!

06:10 Thats right Stu, Captain Power and the soldiers of the future. There was a line of figures, and a line of interative toy vehicles that came with a VHS tape that you could play and shoot flashing pink things on your old CRT tv screen (doesnt work with anything else of course) with your powerjet, or striker, or interlocker, whichever vehicle you had, and avoid flashing yellow things or you'd take hits, and if you ran out of powerpoints then your vehicle's pilot would eject from the vehicle to show game over. Or you could put the vehicle in 'room' mode and shoot a little shiny target instead. Hours of fun. Well, about an hour, thats how long the tape that came with my powerjet ran anyway I think.

Interesting fact about the Secret Wars toy line. It actually partially inspired the iconic Symbiote arc in the Spider-Man comics, on account of Mattel being a big fan of being able to sell two identical spider-men in two different colors, it convinced Marvel to keep Spidey's black costume around longer, leading to the Symbiote arc and inevitably to the creation of Venom

Bloth had quite a distinct voice indeed, but that was because he was voiced by Brock Peters whom, among other things, voiced Dark Kat in SWAT Kats and numerous other cartoon characters over a very long career. Even those who never watched much in the ways of cartoons might still know him as the father of Benjamin Sisko, Joseph Sisko, from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

They may have been targeted to boys but I like them because they're still ugly-cute like regular troll dolls, but the Battle Trolls were just plain ugly. And I don't get why they thought troll dolls were supposed to be for girls, I remember boys liking the Thomas Dam-type trolls in the 1990s as well. Although the writing on the packaging for Battle Trolls was amusing: "To make sure your Battle Troll stays happy, just follow these simple rules: DON'T feed him, DON'T be nice to him and KEEP him hidden in a dark, smelly place. With the proper neglect, your Battle Troll should stay mean, cranky, and ready to fight anyone or anything for years!"

I didn't realize I had that Kang figure until you mentioned the harness, and that sent memories flowing back. Weird how that happens. I am not even sure why I had a Kang action figure. I don't think I had any other Marvel figures as a kid? And while I enjoy Kang he's not like my favorite Marvel villain or anything. Probably something my parents bought at a garage sale.

Oh man, that "responding to the tv show" thing reminds me of the old Galidor LEGO sets. The Kek Powerizer toy would have difference replies to the TV based on what head was attached.

Hade one of those rubbery Batman figures, in the 80s, in Sweden. My fondest memory was throwing him into a fan and him losing a leg from the whole ordeal.

The most consistent and entertaining channel on KZbin. Love your content, and I'd love to see more stream archives! I've watched the ones you already have enough to recite them from memory, though I do come to your Twitch from time to time. It's just that being in America it's difficult to match your schedule. Either way, happy to see a new video!

I had an action figure as a kid who i had no clue who they were at the time was too young to read. The figure had hair that looked like the pinch piece when you drop a deuce, so i named the figure “poo-poo hair” Turns out, it was a Bane figure from a line of batman toys from the 90’s. Hahaha imagine calling Bane that….

I actually have a complete set of the the 4 main Street Sharks, Rox, Moby Lick and Manta Man. They were my brother's when he still collected action figures but I kept them since I like to collect stuff like this.

I had that hulk. I asked my dad to buy it while we on our road trip to Sweden. I was 10 and I didn't even know who hulk was. regardless, I liked him. I was more of a Spiderman guy but I never had a Spidey action figurem.. Does anyone remember those sticky rubber worms you could throw on a window and they would slither down the window surface

Yes! I had a purple octopus shaped one. If thrown onto light coloured wallpaper it would leave a horrid greasy mark which was impossible to remove.

17:10 the white suit troll with red circle on chest is Troll Force ninja white from company called Toys N Things in 1992 (Google image search troll force look at card backs). The other white one I'm not sure but think is again either troll force or troll fighter by Simba but can't see another with a white body so maybe someone's painted it or it's another ko line of trolls lol
