In this video I'm in Comor Sports in Whistler and talking about some of the weirdest powder snowboard shapes and why they're amazing for powder snowboarding. I've got TJ and Andreas here to help me talk about these powder snowboards and tell their stories from powder snowboarding days on these boards. If you have any questions about these weird powder snowboarding shapes please leave them in the comments. Thanks for watching!

I was testing the nitro quiver cannon last weekend and i would describe it as a raceboard rather then powboard. Because it takes so much energy to turn in powder and the rather hard flex and long edges are actually nice for carving, if you have the space and speed...

I own the 2020 YES 20-20, and have just got home from a week in Tignes, French Alps. They had a lot of early season snow, and even powder (3ft snow drifts even). Extra lifts and pistes were opened early. I alternated between the 20-20 and my '19 Flagship. I completely agree with Andreas, in that the float feels quite "level", and takes a little while to fully trust it. But it works! I'm just work on my switch and spins now, and it felt totally comfortable both on piste and in powder. Plus, the extra width helped with my big feet not dragging. Also, I've found the pop to be pretty good on this too, especially when "dolphining" as I call it, in powder. (back to back gentle ollies, looks like a dolphin infront of a ship). Really nice spring with very little effort. Its a board I can tell thatI'm going to progress well on, even if it is technically way above my skill level needs right now. Cant wait to hear what you guys think of it! I've got some footage I'll try and put into a video on here soon.

Hi, I would start the snowboard, and I would have some advices... I started skiing 2 years ago, (I’m thirteen but before I couldn’t practice because I was in Reunion Island) so I’m not so bad but I’m not a pro (logic). In my local resort there is not much powder, is it disturbing for snowboard ? And how long do I need to get down a blue runway without too much trouble ? So in your opinion, is this the right time to start snowboarding ? If you want clarification ask me. (sorry if there are mistakes but I am French) Please answer this is important for me ! Thanks...
@adam69_
@adam69_ 4 жыл бұрын
Matthias LEPETZ you don’t need deep snow to start snowboarding. The sooner you start, the better. If you feel like you wanna give it a try - go for it. Depending on how fast you progress, it should take you between a month and two to hit the blue lines comfortably and stress-free.

Matthias LEPETZ in my opinion - yes, at least in the beginning. If you learn on your own you can develop bad habits that will be very hard to get rid off in the future. I know it’s expensive, but if you can afford it, take a few lessons with a professional.

I am just wondering if anybody can give me advice, I am 18 years old turning 19 pretty soon, and I have been to whistler two times and have really loved it and I am thinking of moving out there, is that crazy to do before going to University? I have a few more questions also, is finding jobs out there hard? Is finding a place that is cheap that I can live in solo or maybe with one other roommate hard? if you have any other tips or anything else to tell me please do, also I am not from Canada I am from Hawaii.
