@@gxlden_cookie8 About 80% of a piggies diet should be hay such as orchard grass. It is dried grass. The cheapest place to find it is often farm supply stores and check their house hay, because often they have low dust with better quality than the small pet options. If you have a local farmer that sells hay you might even get a better deal on a bale of hay. If you give piggies a pile of hay you would be shocked how quickly they will go through it.

This summer the wife and I brought home some corn for dinner one evening, as I was husking the corn; I asked my wife if the guinea pigs could eat the husks, they can. Well, we found our boys' favourite treat this summer! They squeek and hop and pop when they hear the bag rustling. So fast forward to today, I am in the grocery store at the corn bin, picking up the husks that others husked in store, free treats for my boys! The cashiers give me odd looks, except one other who does the same thing for her piggies

I always have "conversations" with my piggies and everyone else thinks I'm just being silly and making wheeking noises at Fluffy and S'mores but sometimes I can actually understand what they're saying and I think that sometimes they understand what I mean too! A good example of one of those situations is when I was going away for vacation for 2 weeks one time. Before I left, I told my piggies: "Hey boys, I'm going to be away for a little while. You will be cared for by one of my friends and they will take good care of you while I'm gone. Bye boys!" and they actually both came to me, licked me on the nose, and then "booped" my nose as if saying, we'll miss you so much, see you soon, Syl!

This is so relatable! Especially the fantasy language. Whenever I walk up the stairs, they start wheeking and stop when I open the door. I'll call them with the word 'Piep', or 'Piepjes', which roughly translate to wheekies or squeakies, and they start wheeking all over again.

Another weird thing I do: I won’t stop expanding their enclosure! It used to be 3 square feet, and when I realized it was too small, I got 16 square foot cage. It’s 26 square feet now, and there’s no way it’ll stop at that 🤣 Edit: it’s 28 square feet plus a 4 square foot loft now 😂😂 2nd edit: it’s 32 square feet plus a 4 square foot loft now…😂😂😂 3rd edit: it’s 50 square feet with a 4 square foot loft. The pigs are taking over my house!

Mine used to wake me up in the middle of the night so I would feed them Hay! 😂 I brought one into our local tractor supply so we could get our photos taken for the pet wall. I totally do all of these! I love when I get on the floor and I get nose bopped or licked. Little guys full of such personality.

Yes, that's me at the shops! My greengrocer knows me of old and only today she was putting all kinds of veg. that were in the 'reduced' tray (but still in pretty good condition), in my basket, for nothing. ''Do your guinea pigs eat this? - do your guinea pigs eat that?''...etc! But yes, I also make sure that my guinea's have the best pick of vegetables, when I buy them! I love all of your pigs and feel I know them as if they were my own. Lulu's fur is SO beautiful.

I just wanted to warn and say one of my female pigs lived 10 years and we got her as an adult the other lived twelve witch is insane to me because the average life span is up to 8 so be very careful and aware that you need to be prepared to have a long-lived pet .

My dad can barely afford to fear our guinea pig, let alone own one... we really don't have enough money to buy high-quality food for her, so we just put her on the lawn and feed her leftover veggies, and we might have to give her away because we can't get her everything she needs to be happy, could you please make a vid on like, how to take care of your guinea pig and keep them happy but also not spend a lot of money? I have photos of my daughter napping on the couch with one of our beloved piggies, a sheltie named Cocoa, when she was 5-6 yrs. old; My daughter is now 30 yrs. old & has a different photo, that I framed & gave her, as an 'apartment-warming present', when she first moved out of the house--Same age of 5-6 yrs. old, but lying on the couch on her stomach, watching Shining Time Station (I think) on PBS, with our other sheltie, Squeakers, sitting on her back . . . That last one is so true for me!!!!!!! I take billions of photos of my piggie boys on my camera and other electronic devices, and even take them on my mom's phone whenever I can! I love all of these! My family takes pity on anyone who shows interest in my guinea pigs or talks about their pets first because they know this person is about to be at my mercy for the next few hours looking at my over 10,000 photos of my pigs, of which 95% are blurry but I can't bring myself to delete them because they were "just the cutest right before!" Grocery shopping is also great fun, I can only imagine what people think because I have inspected every vegetable on offer, have about 80% of my cart full of different vegetables and the rest is junk food.
