Van has a brief moment in Cars 2 where racers drive by and his luggage opens and maps fly out. I guess he wasn't taking any more chances after getting lost in Radiator Springs.

You forgot another WEIRD thing in the Cars universe: the headlight seller in Cars 2 has her eyes in her headlights. But all the other cars have their eyes on their windshield.

All of these have explanations, if you pay attention and use common sense. 1. Leroy (the minivan with the mattress) throws the mattress down and rolls onto it. It's the perfect size for him, actually. Seeing how rough he travels, especially with those rear wheels, a cozier, softer sleeping surface probably helps him sleep better. Sleeping on mattresses isn't really required for cars, but rougher rollers would benefit from a soft mattress when they come to a stop to rest. 2. Van could be storing anything (but maps) in his rooftop storage box. Fuel cans, spare tires (as you mentioned, even though judging by the size of his wheels he can probably fit more than one), some tools... 3. With a good enough aim and lucky enough shot, a bullet could cause many problems for a car. Blowing tires, making a hole in the fuel tank, heck if it gets in the engine it might mess something up causing the entire engine to fail. Don't quote me though. Also, technically if we think outside of Pixar's box, the guns can shoot the windshield or the mouth, where their most obvious organs are. Just imagine; one bullet to the windshield and you've already pretty much eliminated your enemy, since they're going to be blind as the eyes aren't separate like humans. 4. Well, yeah. Religion exists, a Jesus Chrysler exists. Everything that "happened" in our world happened in the cars universe as well. 9/11, Titanic, the 1992 LA riots, you name it. 5.1: Cloth. Cloth also exists in the cars universe. While there isn't any cloth shown here, there are curtains in the Mater's Tall Tales short "Monster Truck Mater" in the hospital. Additionally, Riya (One of Ishani's pity/forklift crew in Planes) wears clothing resembling that of real life Indian tradition made of fabric. So yes, while not every vehicle in this universe "wears" "clothing" a washer and dryer is still a necessary home appliance. 5.2: ...A pity/forklift did, like one of them you're showing and saying right here? They may be small but they can probably push it in without that much effort. 5.3: First of all, those aren't rugs, they seem more like a place to put a hedge. Second of all, that's probably a room for storage or room for another car to sleep in if needed, with a back door probably. It could also just be an oversight made by the people that modeled this. Also just as a side node; this is a movie about anthropomorphic cars, like you said. Some suspension of disbelief is required. You enjoy all of this until you start thinking too far. The creative consultant and creative director of the Cars franchise, Jay Ward, "confirmed" humans used to exist in the world of Cars, but in every previous evidence we have of the entire franchise (even deleted scenes of every movie, short, etc.) there isn't a single trace, mention, hint or implication humans used to exist.

In Cars 2, there is a scene where Mater asks for some ice cream. How did they make the ice cream? Ice cream requires milk, and the cows in this universe are traitors. So does this mean that they milk the tractors?

There are Roombas in the Planes 2 movie
