They could have gone in the staff room or the warehouse, if they weren't as good as they hoped. By putting them right out front? Says that they loved them! Guessing 6" would be a two-part process for me. Spreading my fingers apart, the distance from my thumb-tip to my little finger-tip is 8". My little finger second section is 1". I would measure out 8" and then subtract 1" off twice, leaving me with approximately 6".

That, ‘leave the last flyer’ phenomenon is actually pretty common so long as you’re not in a bustling city where people don’t care as much about common courtesy. I live in a suburb in Ohio and worked at a grocery store. There’s a lot of psychology behind that phenomenon. If items were nearly out of stock, lots of times people would leave one or two left because people don’t like being the greedy one to take it if they don’t really NEED it in that moment. Also, people will always take and buy more when a shelf looks freshly stocked, that’s why pulling product and stacking it neatly towards the front boosts sales.
