It takes me back Bruce and I can feel it so strong, like yesterday. I was 20 years old, wandering, looking for myself on the road, in the bars, on the beach, wherever. Searching...your passion tells it all. It wasn't me with you in reality, but I feel you are singing our song, especially since my name is Terrie. All those feelings, I remember...

It was a warm summer night and as a 14 year old kid me and two friends watched this happen the rest is history! I went into highschool that September and everyone was listening to Boy George ..Micheal Jackson and Wham. I just couldn’t relate this was the most incredible thing that had ever happened to me and these guys was listening to Boy George!!

All I cared about for a long time was going to see him. I've seen everyone (pretty much) that I've wanted to see, but somehow, the tickets just kept slipping through my fingers every tour. One year, I had my chance! I went alone because I did want anyone disturbing me. Lol. I didn't want to miss anything. It was freaking ridiculous how good the whole show was. Backstreets was AMAZING, but it turns out I can die happy after seeing Jungleland live. It is such a masterpiece. I was so blown away by the Hammersmith concert that I've always wanted to see them perform it. The sax gives me chills every time, and his Hammersmith performance of Jungleland was on point...He put everything out there. What I wouldn't have given to have been at that show. Sigh.

Damn this song takes me all the way back to hanging out on the backstreets of north Philadelphia. A teenager in the 70s on the back streets. Damn what a great great time to be a teenager and on the backstreets. We were hiding on those backstreets. Is it just me or does it seem like Bruce Springsteen was right there with us. Cause a lot of his songs are like he was with us. IT'S WHY HE'S THE BOSS MUSIC FOR THE EVERYDAY WORKING PEOPLE.

He sometimes sings a lyric with so much passion and feeling that it tugs on your heartstrings and you realize that a hurt from decades ago is still etched in to the core of your being. The strange thing about it is the name that makes us uncomfortable; but reminds us that we are still very much alive with HURT. I thank him for putting it into words that make sense in the hectic world of love,

+johnnyM809 Well...... I'm a huge Bruce fan too ( as evidenced by my youtube screen name! ) but even I have to come the realization that Bruce's may still be fired up for his passions and social causes/commentary ( The Rising, Post 9-11, to name but one ) but musically-speaking, I really haven't been in love with any of his work after Human Touch and Lucky Town. Ghost of Tom Joad was decent, but it's very obvious to me and many Bruce fans that we will never hear another Born to Run/Darkness/River level of songwriting craft again. And you know what? Considering his INCREDIBLE string of spectacularly consistent song quality and passionate Live shows, he is still head and shoulders above ALL others. So that certainly isn't me "turning" on the man :) ♫
@johnnyM8099 жыл бұрын
+1970borntorun I think his work post 2000 has been phenomenal. The Rising, Magic and Wrecking Ball for instance are superb albums which in my opinion are amongst his best ever. I loved Working on a Dream as well although I know a lot of fans didn't. Considering his songwriting has basically been about the human condition and a reflection of his life and what he sees around him at various stages of his life, it's clear to me his work has evolved as he has aged but in my view the quality of his songwriting has not diminished one bit. As I say in my view he has been and continues to be in a class of his own in popular music in terms of songwriting and live performance.
@1970borntorun9 жыл бұрын
+johnnyM809 Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but even the most die-hard Bruce fans and Music reviewers have thought that his spark is off and he needs to sound and be inspired again.

Yup. He played 15 sold-out shows to 300,000 there in 99 and 10 shows to 600,000, next door at Giants Stadium in 2003, still the record for one perfomer or band at one stand at one venue. He's played close to a hundred shows since it opened in 80 or 81, everyone to a full house. Not that popularity and quality are necessarily perfectly correlated, although in Bruce's case, IMHO, he is also the best. Forty years of unmatched excellence, writing songs, in the studio, and on stage. Enjoy Fenway
