The V10 Diesel in the Touareg was a bespoke design. They didn't base it off anything else, it's closest relative are inline-4 engines. It's all aluminum, but they got steal "support lines" embedded in the engine block's aluminum pieces. If you read up on the engine it reads like something you'd expect in a McLaren or so, it's soooo over the top and perfectionistic how they constructed that engine. Special metals, materials, coatings everywhere.

Not understanding why Gucci would collaborate with Fiat 500 is quite north american of you. In europe the 500 is a really cool and stylish car specially for a fashion oriented metropolitan person.

I don't get why Hyundai made an Iron Man version of a crummy crossover. At least they should've given the Veloster that treatment.

It's weird. Forgot to mention it, but I think Hyundai had a contract with Marvel for the second Ant Man movie. Honestly, a black and gold Veloster as a Black Panther edition? Idk

Do that was the number a came across before filming. Unfortunately you are correct. The gold Delorean was always labeled as gold plated. But they actually used gold leaf. So the weight was only increased by about 2 pounds..... 5 more minutes on research

Ford lost the ability to work with Shelby during the 90's to Dodge. Think the Dodge Shelby Daytona. They also did a Shelby Dakota and Durango. So Ford made a deal with Saleen. They did a Mustang, Explorer, and something else I can't remember off the top of my head. Shelby used to work with Ford until Lee Iacocca went to Chrysler and Carroll followed for a time.

Fair point. I'm not sure of there was a third 90s Saleen Ford. But ya there was a hand full of 80s or 90s Shelby Chrysler products. What about the Shelby omni?

The Chevy HHR looks like a PT Cruiser because Chevy poached the PTC's designer to make it. (Also the GT3 touring is a runaway success for Porsche, they sell them like crazy for what they cost)

I'm not arguing the GT3 is good or even great. I just think making a soft GT3 kind of defeats the purpose of a GT3

​@@metalheadcarshow the GT3 Touring is mostly for the "enthusiasts" that want a stickshift with their GT3 rather than a softer GT3.(though let's be honest most of the sales go to scummy collectors and only a few are actually bought by enthusiasts that want their GT3 in manual). It's the same story as the Porsche 911R which was also a GT3, just given a stickshift manual too.

I'd like to know where you got the info for the weight of the gold plated deloreun..... gold plating is just an extremely thin electroplated layer that weighs next to nothing. It doesn't mean they fused actual gold plated to the exterior.... if anything, maybe a few pounds of weight was added by the plating and that would be on the extreme side.....

For the Delorean. I'm wrong. I found a page saying the weight and ran with it. The gold came from Gold flake and the added weight is around 2 pounds. As for your other comment about the gmc. I had a handful of cars ready, I asked friends their opinions, read a pile of lists and that never came up. Had I known it would have made ot though haha

Explorer V6 aren’t “extremely” unreliable. The SOHC had some valve train issues but that doesn’t make a vehicle extremely unreliable. My wife has a sport trak with over 300k kms on it with very little maintenance

Great to hear. A lot of the people I knew who had them had engines blow on them. They may have just owned turds or didn't do enough maintenance. Glad to hear yours was good

@@metalheadcarshow many times mechanical things fail due to operator error and neglect. They seldom understand, they only drive and barely do that well

the mercedes wasnt weird at all, germans love station wagons, so its not so far to a power mini van, i would buy one.

I would also buy one. I'm likely looking at it from the view of someone from North America. I did refer to it as a minivan. Vans in north america have been dull forever. And fast wagons are always a rare novelty almost. One of the last ones from a american company was probably the Cadillac CTSV wagon.

@@metalheadcarshow yeah get it, here in germany you have many manufacturers with sport "kombis", so wagons like the audi rs4, BMW M5 touring, mercedes E63 AMG and so one, with more then 450hp from the factory.
