My mother in law is in an MLM called Stamp It Up. They seem like a great group of older women and kids getting crafty on the outside, but I'm interested in what you could find on them.... she has bought a LOT of their products and is a "demonstrator." In all fairness, I am now one too somehow, but no one has ever pushed me to spend money if I didn't want it and I actually really liked the items I bought and used things like it before she introduced me... i don't sell it or anything.. I just like the crafty stuff. Please look into them! I want to make sure my MIL, whom I LOVE SO MUCH isn't falling for an evil company.

ok, so I'm so happy you spoke about nikken. My husband and I almost got sucked into this mlm but we dodged a bullet. How it came into my life was so random but now looking back it was all part of the plan. his plan. I was serving/bartending about 5 years ago and an older "gentleman" was sitting in my section during brunch. he was a pot of coffee kinda guy, nothing else. I'd never seen him before and of course after being there awhile he started to make small talk. he seemed innocent, nice, funny..etc. It was that time of the month for me and a couple of my coworkers...which usually always happens in work environments and he knew this. he "overheard" my coworkers and I complaining/talking about our cramps. very soon after I went back to refill his coffee and he handing me this circular flat magnet with a green rubber ring surrounding the outer edge. I immediately said "what is this?" He said "just put it on your stomach and come thank me when your cramps go away." I didn't know what to think. I was confused but very interested. So I did just that. within a few minutes my cramps were gone, like magic. I immediatly told my coworkers (that's exactly what he wanted) so of course I rushed back to the table and asked him what the hell it was. he had me right where he wanted me, he knew exactly what he was doing! he started talking to me about nikken but not too much (crumbs). he also had the other girls try it..same thing! he asked if we could meet for coffee (of course) and I agreed as long as I could bring my husband (then boyfriend) and of course he thought that that was a great idea. we agreed to join but what was weird but also a blessing was that he paid for us to join. which is a big reason why I think he did so well. what did we have to loose? less than a week later there was a small 2 day convention located about 20 mins away from Seattle which was about 1hr drive from where we lived. he paid for our room..so of course we went. this company makes crazy claims but because the magnet worked so well we believed. about 2-3 weeks after the convention a (expensive) mattress showed up at our doorstep in a nikken box with our address but we didn't buy it. we later found out that he ended up purchasing it under our account so we could stay active. we defiantly didnt take the whole get people to join seriously ..especially the way he wanted us to. that's why we didn't loose money but let me just tell you... both my husband and I haven't experienced sleep like that since he showed up at the house (almost 2 months later) and demanded the mattress back (we should've never given it back he knowingly bought it "for us") but we did. once again, the best sleep of my life and I still use the magnet til this day. those 2 products work/worked amazing, I'm not gonna lie! but now that I look back and knowing what I know now. its 100% an mlm. he prayed/prays on people at their jobs. he knew what to do, where to go. he knew what to say, he knew what not to say and the list goes on. I'm so grateful we didn't "allow" hi to brainwash us because It was very that.. including the convention. the whole situation was weird, the company is weird and to look back at everything its so creepy to put all the red flags together and think about every detail. sorry for the long comment but I just wanted to tell you and everyone else reading this to be careful. mlm's are extremely predatory and they ruin peoples lives.

I was once recruited by Nuskin. I actually attended their "trainings" for about 6 months until I realized that it was not worth my time and money. Boy, their products (which I had to buy for membership) were expensive and the "trainors" always said that these were backed up by science and R&D. I was wondering all the while I was with Nuskin why they were "silent" about their presence. When someone recruited me and I asked about the company, that person didn't or couldn't tell me what it was. That issue with FTC you mentioned actually made sense of why they always tried to be under the radar.

One mlm that I’ve never heard anyone talk about is pampered chef. My stepmom used to always tell us how she sold their products for years and she owned everything of theirs. Well a few months ago I was looking for quality kitchen brands and remembered all the “quality” overpriced stuff my stepmom owns so I checked out their website and saw the consultant page and realized she was in a freakin mlm man... totally makes sense because she’s definitely a hun

Older MLMs (like Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Avon) actually sold good stuff and weren’t just 100% focused on getting people to join to make money, rather than selling their products, like a lot of MLMs now.

I was watching this while my bf was playing video games and he turned go me, dead in the face, and said "I used to work for Amway" and thrust his card at me... apparently I had saved it without paying attention when unpacking and put it on his desk. He had 30 "wings" (aka 30 people under him) and got 50-1000 every few months for doing nothing... he stopped doing it because sometimes the return wasn't worth it and because he felt bad. 😳

There are some uses for magnets in medicine- the one I’m most familiar with is trans-cranial magnetic stimulation, which is an alternative to electroshock therapy for severe cases of mental illnesses, and MRIs work with magnetic fields. However both of these practices use incredibly strong magnets in very specific ways, which in my opinion further takes away credibility from the alternative medicine use of weak magnets.

Weird story. My uncle worked for a party lite manufacturer and we got a TON of free candles that were defective in that the wick wasn't centered right etc. So they didn't burn great but they were free. I really hate that they're an MLM because up until I learned they were it was a fond memory. I still have a clam tea light holder that closes shut with the candle inside. *edited to add at least the product was decent enough and they had quality control.

I'm not sure how I got in the spiral of your videos, but I started out watching your video about the beauty "community" and really appreciated that you touched on the subject of your concern about worker's rights, one of which was highlighting the unethical mica industry. I eventually ended up here and while I think it's fine to not believe that ingredients in a beauty product matter, but I do want to point out that Beautycounter does fight for the ethics of various industries related to beauty products, including mica. I'm not a consultant, and it's understandable to hate on a company for being an MLM, but I hope you can see some of the light in what they are doing!

i used to work for an alternative medicine clinic that offered Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy. This, unlike magnetic bracelets, isn't crap therapy. I've been a recipient of it myself on my bad knees. It's not magic ofcourse. The way it works, is by sending strong (and i mean very strong) magnetic pulses through your body at a specific spot, such as the knee or or a shoulder, to stimulate movement and range of motion. This type of therapy helps alleviate stiffness and pain for issues like frozen shoulder or arthritic knees that can't bend properly. It's a therapy that often gets used on racing horses who have been injured, so they can regain their proper function of their legs.

Yeah, I was going to comment using magnet for health isn't anything knew in Asian countries. (in shiatsu, acupressure etc?) I personally haven't experienced results from using it but it's popular in Japan. I believe it's originally from China. Edit* But that doesn't mean the business model isn't MLM 😂 I hope the product itself works ok at least.

There's actually an ongoing study from harvard, I believe, that is looking at high powered magnets for depression. They are targeted and strong magnets, not something you wear as a bracelet. It makes sense that magnets would be impactful in some way, but they would have to be used in a pointed, specific way.
