The only one who wasn't regularly either on weed, coke or heroin in the first season were the Muppets, and that's only because they were hand puppets.

What do I think? I think Weird History should also look at musical guests who were banned from SNL (other than musical guests who became hosts such as Frank Zappa did.) The first person who comes to my mind to be on the "banned musical guests" list is Sinead O'Connor, who was banned in the early 1990s after she ripped apart a photo of Pope John Paul II during her performance prompting an onslaught of angry phone calls and other forms of complaints from the public. Zappa was anti-drug and it pissed him off that everyone on that show was doing drugs during the week they were preparing for the show he would host, so he purposely sabotaged it. I understand his motivation. I don’t believe that Adrian Brody was banned for the dreadlock wig. That had to be planned. Someone in wardrobe would have to give him that wig. If he somehow brought his own, where was the stage manger, who should have taken it off his head?

I have yet to understand why Martin Lawrence ever got famous in the first place. I watched the whole rise from Def Jam on forward.
