You need to have a transmission tune to reduce the torque limits in order to unleash this power

I see the kit comes with Methanol injection and such in my ML550, but the carbon intake boxes are a separate option on the website. But what if I already have the methanol injection kit? Could I in theory, swap the methanol kit for the airboxes?

Unfortunately, the air boxes that we have for the M157 are only compatible with our W.4 turbos. They will not fit the M278.

@@WeistecTV Gotcha, what makes them different? I know everything else should bolt up pretty well. I was planning on the w.3 turbos but I kind of want to just go all out

​@@rogue_5508 the airboxes will fit any of the m157/m278 motors. It's the factory inlets that will not fit. The inlets we use are specific for the bigger W.4 Turbos we offer.

You'll need new pistons and rods. (The oem ones bend even in mild tuning applications) Maybe some new GAD intercoolers and catless downpipes. I think this would cost between 20k-30k with installation.

The current set up on the vehicle handles the W.4 kits pretty well. But if someone is wanting to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors, it would be a great add on!

Only just enough room to squeeze in this log type manifold, so would be impossible to fit in headers with equal length! However, this type of manifold will work fine with a turbo set up

Its the same engine only m157 is hand built by amg and it comes in 6.3 variants on mercedes, the m278 comes in 500 and 550

Everything you said here is wrong haha! Amazing how people say anything on the internet as if it is fact. The m157 engine is a 5.5 v8 twin turbo. It was replaced by the m278 which is a smaller displacement 4.0 v8 twin turbo.

I'm confused for the $13k option online what is included from that table. It sounds like at least the meth injection kit is included at least. But when I call to confirm it's just the turbos. No tune no intake system just the two turbos. Need confirmation before I'd be willing to spend $13k

Don’t buy anything from Weistec. Poor support and they sell garbage parts. I bought a set of pulleys for my C63 W204 AMG. The most expensive pulleys on the market. Total garbage. The bearings failured after 3.5k miles.

They have been great with me 🤷‍♂️ all my tuning, methanol injection, and all that is from them and I've been ragging on my ML550 hard for 10k miles now, including cross country road trips and drag straps with zero issues
